The pursuit of freedom is not only the lofty ideal of human beings, but also the internal valuable motivation of human life. All philosophical theories and cultures, which reflect the requirements of history and in which the spirit of the times is embodied, can not avoid the philosophical meditation and theoretical exploration of human freedom. Nowadays, we are in the era of globalization, which is making the social life change in its structure. Now China is not only experiencing the historic transition from tradition to modern, but also in the center of vortex, which represents the long-term coexistence and competence between socialism and capitalism ,esp. in this globalizing world. In this globalizing world, on one hand, we have an unprecedented opportunity for our life, freedom and development; on the other hand, we are also facing unprecedented problems, such as, hesitation and confusion, anxiety and depression. The enormous anxiety and depression based on the alternation of times and the bout between the systems have been increasingly transformed into a strong voice for freedom. At this moment, how is it possible for human freedom? Where is our hope of freedom for survival and where will it goes? Just at this times, verities of western liberalism are spreading in high speed, are increasingly becoming the culture waves sweeping across this globalizing world. Then, we have to ask, is freedom the patent of the capitalism? Whether can socialism give us freedom, and much more than capitalism do? Does Marxism have its own concept of freedom? Where is the fundamental difference between them? The time demand that we should answer to win Marxism's approvalMarx's view of freedom is a theoretical system ,which Marx and Engels dealt with the origins of, the essence of, the basic contends of, the value function of freedom and its paths of realization. The core issues of the entire system of the Marxist theory is to investigate the questions of freedom and emancipation of the proletariat and human beings by using the historical materialism and basing this investigating on the deep structure and the internal contradictions in the social life. The reason why Max's view of freedom has been able to surpass all previous views of freedom is that Max's view of freedom uses the historical materialism as its cornerstone; that it takes the real life of human being as the object of its investigation; that it studies human freedom from the real aspect of the structure of social life; it affirms the ontological questioning of freedom and the pursuit of freedom values; that it scientifically demonstrates the historical process and internal logic of freedom from the ideal of freedom values, patterns of theory to reality and the facts of life; that it reveals the characteristics of social life of freedom. The logic power and the value function of Max's view of freedom is showed by materialist view of history, which investigates the questions of human freedom, and by its position of theory and methodology, which constitutes the social reality, class definition, historical specificity and practice. The internal unity of the position of theory and methodology, which constitutes the social reality, class definition, historical specificity and practice, is belonged to fundamental characteristics of Max's view of freedom. Therefore, to understand the real meaning of Max's view of freedom is focused on understanding and using these theoretical positions and methodological principles. This will make us better known that the way of the realization of human freedom and the emancipation of man is to change all our social relationships, and this way is a process of concrete, historical practice.Liberty is a succeeding realization and expansion of man social practice, and also the direction of man's social practice, which represents orientation of man's values. On one hand, this view of Max's freedom can effectively respond to the questioning and challenging of Marx's view of freedom by contemporary western philosophy, on the other hand, it also can give instructions for us how to improve the conditions of our life, which is becoming more and more worse nowadays, esp. for China's rebuilding social values, for it is undergoing a radical change in almost all respects of social life.
