| The Sustainable development (SD) has been the most popular conception all over the word from the early 1990s.Beginning with the essential meaning of the sustainable development ,this paper analyzed the major problem of conditioning the agricultural sustainable development (ASD) in the mid and west region of china, at last ,some reform recommendations on it are suggested .The main method, and content of this research are as follows:I .Expound the basic theories of SD and ASD. As far as sustainable development theories are concerned ,this article summarizes the sustainable development conception ,the studying orientation of its, and the economic studying trends, etc. Then, in the aspect of ASD, this article expounds its idea, studying content and studying trait, etc. On the basis of that ,the author sets forth the theories and practical significance of studying ASD in the mid and west region of china from the strategy adjustment of china regional development, economic globalization as well as intellectual economic developing trends, etc.II .Analyse and grasp major factors and outstanding barriers of ASD in the mid and west region of china as a whole .After qualitative and quantitative analysis ,we conclude the superiority of ASD in the mid and west region mainly embodies many ways ,such as abundant land resources ,munificent agriculture organism resources ,variable natural climates ,the central government's readjustment of development strategy as well as the historical chance that new economic background gives ,etc. On the other hand ,the main barriers include projecting land using contradiction between the development of economy and society and agriculture production, serious loss of water and soil ,worse trend that land becomes desert ,rare water resources ,seriously destructive agricultural ecological environment along with the restrain of system and conception ,etc.III .Use the principle and method of economic growth theory to analyze the agricultural sustainable growth in the mid and west region of China. First ,by the relevant theories of economy growth and economics of development, expound and prove that agricultural sustainable growth is essential condition of ASD from beginning to end ,set up the theory model to appaise agricultural sustainable growth pattern .The empirical analyzing conclusion of agriculture sustainable growth in the mid and west region is that the increase of rural labor force hasn't direct effect on the agriculture economic growth ,the change of cultivated land surface area and crops sowing surface area hasn't direct relevance with the change of total output value in farming, forestry ,animal husbandry and fishery . The capital input and system creating have notable effect on agricultural growth. Agricultural structure has increasing affect to agricultural growth .All of these can be summed up as the transform of agricultural growth pattern. This articleuses ASD pattern to make empirical analysis and make an conclusion that the agricultural economic growth pattern in the mid and west region is unsustainable pattern, so the feasible change in agricultural growth pattern needs to be discussed emphatically.IV .The economic analysis on sustainability of agricultural resource, environment ,ecology in the mid and west region of china .On the basis of summarizing relevant principles of Resource and Environment Economics, and make an empirical analysis on the sustainable usage of farmland in the mid and west region from macroscopic direction ,by the analysis of farmland's present situation and the assessment of its changing trend according to the narrow sensed ASD model ,we conclude that before the year of 2030, rate of increase of grain is bigger than that of population in the mid and west region of china ,i.e. it conforms to the narrow sensed agriculture sustainable growth model .But in order to live and develop, people in this region need farmland very much .Therefore , analyses deeply such issues as the readjustment of civil large...
