As an important natural aesthetic resource, forest landscape is a main research field in landscape ecology, as well as a basis of forest park constructing and ecological tourism developing. Based on the principal of landscape ecology and the theory of sustainable development and with the ways of geographical information system, landscape ecology, forestry and aesthetics, the research is conducted on relationship between forest landscape resources and aesthetic quality from aspects of spatial structures, types and elements of forest landscape, and on the impacts of forest landscape on ecological tourism and the quantitative evaluation of forest landscape carrying capacity on the basis of ecological function division and aesthetic evaluation in Wuyuan county. The aims are to deal with the relationship between conservation and development in the forest landscape and aesthetic resources, to improve the aesthetic quality of forest landscape and to put forward theory for management of scenic forest and construction of ecological tourism.The results are as follows:1. The aesthetic evaluation of landscape spatial structure shows that the broad-leaved forest is the dominant landscape with many types of landscape that form dispersal patch structure in Wuyuan County. The basic structure consists of big patches with high landscape richness index, landscape diversity index, and forest age evenness, with low landscape fragmentation and landscape dominance index, with properly combined unification with diversity of forest landscape, and with perfectly combined regular landscapes shapes with irregular ones. These characteristic indices not only play important roles in stabilizing ecological system but also supply plentiful aesthetic and tourism resources.2. It can obtain better result by the way of constellation graphics than by the way of combining principal component analysis with fuzzy clustering method. Three function areas of forest landscape are divided. The main strategy is put forward in the construction of forest landscape and it provides a basis for the forest landscape resources of development, conservation and management.3. The aesthetic evaluation of landscape types shows that the scenic beauty sequence of forest vegetable types is ancient tree >tea garden>natural forest of Pinus taiwanensis>forest of Phyllostachys pubescens>natural broad-leaved forest>artificial forest of Cunninghamia lanceolata>forest of Pinus massoniana>shrubbery.4. The aesthetic assessment of landscape elements shows that the main elements affecting the near-view aesthetic quality of natural broad-leaved forest are the form of trunks, standdensity, coverage of undergrowth, height of undergrowth, natural pruning and color variation. Trunk straight, better natural pruning, plentiful color variation do good to scenic beauty, while stand density, coverage of undergrowth and height of undergrowth being too high or too low do harm to scenic beauty. Forecast of scenic beauty by nonlinear artificial neural network-genetic algorithm model (NGA model) is more precise than that by multi-linear model. NGA model is used in order to establish qualification evaluation model of scenic beauty with high precision and reliability. Principles of plant arrangement and management, as well as measure of upgrading aesthetic quality of different landscape types are put forward based on aesthetic evaluation of landscape types and elements.5. In this area, the tourist ecology capacity, tourist space capacity and tourist economic capacity are 303.3551, 11.8099, 2.0683 million persons respectively per year. The tourist economic capacity is the key limited factor of ecological tourist development recently.6. Tourist cost, the most important factor affecting amount of tourist, is negatively correlated significantly and high education level is positively correlated with the visitation ratio. In 2002, recreation value of forest landscape is 101.6072 million yuan in this area.7. In this area, human activity is orderly, which enhances the evolutionary of forest land...
