On The Tourist Environmental Carrying Capacity And The Characteristics Of Tourist Flows In Ancient Village

The essence of tourism is in culture. As the traditional cultural resorts increasingly become hot, ancient villages have been paid more close attention to and become one of the important kinds of tourist destinations. Up till now, considerable researches on ancient villages mainly deal with architecture, art, history, cultural geography, sight, protection and so on. But the research on tourism is relatively limited, especially on tourist environmental carrying capacity and tourist flows. Based on lots of on-the-spot surveys in world cultural Heritage: xidi village, this thesis studies the tourist environmental carrying capacity and the temporal characteristics of tourist flows.The thesis consists of five chapters:In chapter one, the author firstly makes a summary on the related progress in the area of tourist environmental carrying capacity and tourist flows(mainly about demographic characteristics and temporal characteristics) research both at home and abroad. And then, he introduces the research background, main contents, research methods and data source.In chapter two, the author briefly introduces the general situation of research area on its characteristics and regional advantages. In chapter three, the author firstly analyses Xidi's residents' perception of environmental impacts of tourism, discovers their attitudes to tourism development and discusses their social psychological perceptive capacity. And then, he studies the tourist environmental carrying capacity of Xidi village from its emergence, design of static model, measure, capacity state and so on. In the end, some countermeasures are put forward.In chapter four, the author makes some study on the demographic characteristics of domestic tourist flows in Xidi village, such as educational level, age, career, income level. At the same time, the author briefly analyses the distribution of original provinces, tourism motives and tourism purposes about these domestic tourists.In chapter five, taking Xidi village and Hongcun village for examples, based on lots of statistical data, the author summarizes the temporal characteristics of tourist flows to ancient villages and makes a comparison with others. He also discusses the reasons affecting it, such as events, social factors, natural environmental factors, radiating effect of Mt. Huangshan, managing systems. Finally, he studies the influence coming from the increasing tourist flows and puts forward some countermeasures.
