Planning and scheduling are the key problem to make production more efficient, more flexible and more reliable for manufacturing systems. The efficient planning and scheduling method and technology are becoming the basis of advanced manufacturing technology such as Computer Integrated Manufacturing System(CIMS), Concurrent Engineering (CE), Agile Manufacture (AM) and Intelligent Manufacture (IM). From the point of view of software, this dissertation has done much research on the theory and related application technique of the planning and scheduling software in order to make it more efficient and more flexible. These research and practice enable the planning and scheduling system to be more reusable, reconfigurable and extensible, thus making it to be an agile system of high adaptability and flexibility.This dissertation analyzes the requirement of the planning and scheduling system and discusses how to develop it with software component technology. The component-based software architecture and component design method for the planning and scheduling system are presented, and its prototype is established with component technology.The main content and achievements of the dissertation are as follows:(1) Planning and scheduling systemThrough the research of the planning and scheduling system of manufacturing enterprises, the production plan which is based on the time scale of monthly, weekly and daily is introduced, and the method that the production plan drives the preparation of tools and materials is put forward. Then the method of optimization of the partial resources being substituted for optimization of the entire resources is discussed. The definition and evaluation index of the key equipment are introduced. A key equipment-based planning and scheduling model is established and the algorithm is presented.(2) Planning and scheduling information system based on software component The dissertation discusses the component technology and analyzes the specialproperties of the planning and scheduling information system. Then a prototype-based developing pattern with component technology is presented for it, and how to develop it is also discussed based on this pattern. The benefits with this pattern are also analyzed.(3) Development of the planning and scheduling information system based on software componentIt is very difficult to divide the component's granularity. According to this, the component-based hierarchy software architecture of the planning and scheduling information management system is established, and this hierarchy software architecture is formalized based on extended GenVoca model. According to the hierarchy software architecture, the reuse-in-the-large is illuminated with printing sub-system, BOM management sub-system and system information management sub-system. As the support technology, the virtual database technology is discussed. The structure of the virtual database of the planning and scheduling management system is established, and how to implement this structure is proved with some examples. Aiming at solving the deployment problem of planning and scheduling information system, the component and web service mixed architecture is presented, and functions of all parts and communication each other are discussed.(4) Component design and implementation of the planning and scheduling information systemThe dissertation discusses the rules for component design. For a planning and scheduling algorithm, it is very complicated to be designed, and also very hard to be implemented. It plays a very important role in reuse, maintenance and extensibility of the planning and scheduling system. Based on the research of different scheduling algorithms, the hierarchy software architecture and software design schema, the component-based software design architecture of planning and scheduling algorithms is established, and the interface and relationship of scheduling algorithm, scheduling model and scheduling engine are analyzed.
