Why the peace-process between Egypt and Israel could succeed and it was "robust"? Why the Palestine-Israel negotiation could not bring forth peace though it had achieved a series of progresses? We can analyze from the background of which Egypt and Israel walked through war to peace. The UN 242 Resolution and 338 Resolution founded the baes of International Law to resolve their conflicts. After the long-term conflicts and wars, both Egypt and Israel had realized that war could not resolve their conflicts, and political negotiation was the sole way to peace. So, Sadat, the President of Egypt, visited Jerusalem.Surely the Camp David Process was due to both Egypt and Israel, the United States had also played an important role. The study analizes the United States' Middle-East Policy: in order to fight for the global hegemony with the Soviet Union, it selected to support Israel ; in order to contain the Soviet Union and enlarge its influences, it selected to support the Egypt-Israel peace process. The Sadat Administration' s suddenly turning against the Soviet Union provided the Uinted States a historical chance to infiltrate in the Middle East.Futhermore, the procedure design had also influenced the Egypt-Israel Camp David peace-process directly. Being unbelieveable and hostile of both sides, the peace negotiation had border on the verge of breakdown several times. Based on the "Single Negotiating Text", President Carter had resolved the crises successfully by way of enlarging common points and retaining each other's differences. And finally, Egypt and Israel had siged the "Camp David Agreement" and the "Peace Treaty".Because of his peace action toward Israel, President Sadat had been strongly opposed by the Arabian nations. And Egypt "horriblly" isolated in the Arabian World. But Sadat had willfully pursued peace, and Egypt had finally taken back its whole occupied territory. The realization of peace between Egypt and Israel had set up a good example for the resolution of Palestine-1sraeI confIi cts.Promoted by the Camp Dav i d Peace-process, the s i tuat i on of the M i dd I e East has changed greatly. Several Arabian states have reached agreement or realized peace with Israel. The peace negotiation between Palestine and Israel has achieved a lot of breaking processes, but they don't real ize peace till today. On the contrary, they walked to the way of limited confrontation. Why the peace-process between Egypt and Israel could succeed and it was "robust"? Why the Palestine-Israel negotiation could not bring forth peace though it had achieved a series of progresses? Through comparative research, we can find that some factors seriously resticted the Palestine-Israel peace-process: theuneqall legal position of each side, the different attitude towards peace, the leader's abi I ity to contro I h i s or her nat i ona I s i tuat i on, the medd I i ng degree of the Un i ted States' on the negotiation, the tactics and skills of negotiation.Above all, because of the change of t ime and the d i fference of fundamenta I situation, the peace-process between Palestine and Israel cannot be as smoothly as which between Egypt and Israel. But we believe: promted by the international society, equality and confidence as their bases, through political negotiation, the Mid-East's long-term, stable and overall peace will come.
