A Study Of The Camp David Peace Process In The Perspective Of Nationalism

Egypt and Israel had a remarkable peace talk at Camp David in the United States in 1978.The members who participated in this conference included the US president Jimmy Carter,president Sadat of Egypt and the Israel’s prime minister Bejin.The meeting lasted 12 days,then two parties signed the two documents of the Outline for Realization of the Middle East Peace and an Outline about Peace Treaty between Egypt and Israel,as a result,this military confrontation which lasted 30 years between Egypt and Israel ceased.The negotiation and contact that before and after Egypt pursued for peace was referred to as“Camp David Peace Process”.This talk was facilitated by varieties of factors,and this paper is tried to illustrate the development and evolution of nationalism in both countries is the most important internal factor for this successful negotiation.Specifically,the thoughts of Egypt nationalism and Post Jewish retro doctrine that tend to peace talk instead of military confrontation has played an important role during the Camp David talks.This paper reviews the nationalism development history in both countries,analyses the nationalism’s clash and compromise at Camp David talks and perspectives in the historical necessity of this successful peace talk between two countries.Although this talk had succeed,nationalism still influenced the trend of political development in both countries.It forms the main discussional logic of this paper.During the peace talk at Camp David,America’s mediation,the bilateral leaders’ courage and intelligence are the vital elements in the process of making great progress certainly.However,the development and evolution of nationalism which as a double-edged sword is still the important factor to influence the relationship and peace talk between Egypt and Israel all the time.But,this recessive factor is ignored by the academic world.This paper is discussed it mainly.To talk about the nationalism factor in the process of Camp David Peace is the deep discussion of peace talk between two parties,and it has the important enlightenment for exploring the problem of stalled peace between Arab-Israel and Israel-Palestine.Nationalism which as a complicated concept is the main theory of this paper.It is not the core content of this paper,but it is the theoretical pole throughout the whole paper.Therefore,the writing style of narration interspersed with comments,not just discussion only is employed.
