Studies On Exhibition Economy Of China

After more than 20 years' of rapid development, modern exhibition industry of China has become the important part of the third industry and one of the most vital industries of our country in recent years. However, comparing with the exhibition industry in developed countries, ours still has many defects and need to be improved. Therefore, how to regulate this industry and secure the rapid and healthy growth of this industry have become the crucial demands of our exhibition industry. This thesis consists of six chapters.Chapter I Outline of Exhibition EconomyThrough the description of exhibition activities, exhibition industry and exhibition economy, this chapter analyses the process of the development of exhibition—from a kind of economic activity to an industry and finally, a new economy. As a way of material and cultural exchange of mankind with collectivity features, exhibition activity has become one of the important ways of economic activities and even the main power of economic development in some regional economic systems with superior conditions. Exhibition industry will form when it develops to certain stage with satisfying certain economic, systematic, social cultural, and international economic conditions. Exhibition industry refers to the sum of interactive like enterprises and an organic part of economic system. When exhibition industry plays a key role in the whole macro economic system and regional economic system, and promotes the development of relevant industries, and becomes the main representatives of market competitiveness and the major creative force of increment capital and value added capital, a new type of economy, exhibition economy comes out. By holding various conferences and exhibitions, exhibition economy promotes the development of relevant industries in an area or city so as to achieve the destination of developing the economy.Chapter II Tendency of Regional Concentration of Exhibition IndustryAfter many years of development, the exhibition has come to a certain scale. However, affected by the political, economic, cultural, historic and regional factors, the exhibition industry is unbalanced. Beginning with the analysis of the distribution of special exhibition centers, periodically held special exhibitions, professional exhibition companies and exhibition service companies and by using the clustering method, this chapter made a comment on the distribution of exhibition industry in China. Generally the tendency of regional concentration of our exhibition industry is very clear. In northern, eastern and southern area the exhibition industry is developed, while in middle and western area the exhibition industry is relatively weak. This kind of tendency represents not only in the concentration of facilities, but also in the concentration of professional exhibition companies, exhibition service companies as well as the periodically held exhibition conferences.Chapter III Tendency of Business Concentration of China's Exhibition IndustryRight from the beginning, exhibition industry links with other industries by all sides: on the one hand, the development of other industries laid solid foundation for the development of exhibition industry of themselves; on the other hand, exhibition industry, as the media of promoting trade, plays a key role in pushing forward the industry. The distribution of periodic exhibition in the different industries demonstrates the actual level of the development of the industries. Moreover, we can learn not only the integration density of exhibition industry of different businesses, but also the current situation and prospective of various industries. Food, textile, building materials, medical, IT and electronics are the industries in which the exhibition mainly concentrates. Most of these industries are consuming products industries, the secondary are the production materials industries, which demonstrate that the structure of our exhibition industry need to be improved urgently.
