The Beginning Of The 21st Century. Sino-us-japan Security Relationship In The Taiwan Issue

This thesis made a comparative analysis of the Tai Wan issue in the security relationship among China, the United States of America and Japan at the initial stage of the 21^st century by means of political science. The Tai Wan issue, although as an internal affair of Chinese government, cannot be isolated from other international factors which have countless connections with Chinese global environment, especially after the Cold War, the USA and Japan have been setting foot on Tai Wan issue, which has become the most serious exterior obstacle for China to realize the national unification.In the post Cold War period, the tri-lateral relations among China, USA and Japan take on the complicated form of interdependence and inter-guardance in the domain of traditional security and non-traditional security. The Sino-US relations developed in a sinuous way, while at the same time, the Sino-Japanese relations remained in a logjam owing to the conflicts in territory and history, and therefore the jointly containment of China by the USA and Japan is evident.Since the 1990's, with the accelerated procurement of jurisprudential independence of the Tai Wan independence force, Tai Wan issue has become the core problem concerning China national security and the focus of the security game among China, the USA and Japan. In considering the reality of the unbalanced trilateral framework, the author pointed out that China should promote to establish a favorable security framework to realize national reunification and check the jurisprudential independence. In order to gain this aim, on the one hand, China should continue to strengthen Sino-US relations, to promote the cooperation in trade and commerce by way of division of topic discussion and to marginalize the Tai Wan issue; on the other hand, China should deal with Sino-Japanese relations rationally, prevent the Tai Wan issue becoming the main problem derived from the conflicts in history and reality between China and Japan, and finally balance the security framework among China, the USA and Japan, to contain the separated activities of Tai wan independence force.
