China's Social Stratification Build A Harmonious Socialist Society Requirements And Countermeasures Research

Since China's reform and opening to the outside world, China, with the development of market economy and the advancement of economic reform and political reform, has shifted from a"two classes, one social layer"society to a society with multiple classes and social layers. In this transitional period, new situations, new problems, and new changes emerge, especially given the fact that the reform is going through tough challenges, the development is in the critical period, the social layers are re-stratifying and a variety of social contradictions and interests conflicts popped up. The status quo and development trend of the re-stratification not only concerns the interests, mode of employment, way of living, value orientation, ethics, and rule of behavior of all the citizens, but also produces far-reaching consequences on all the aspects of life, especially on social stability and the harmonious development of society. Being an important component of the basic conditions of China, the social layer structure is taken as the basis for a good grasp of the basic conditions of the nation so as to make crucial policy concerning the development of society. In other words, a deeper analysis of the social layer re-stratification and a good grasp of the correlation between the social layer re-stratification and the general requirements for the construction of a harmonious society can enable us to conduct a systematic theoretical analysis of the problems emerged and thus a further research into the countermeasures. The research carries significant theoretical and practical implications in:1) handling appropriately and resolving social contradictions and conflicts to strengthen the base for the Communist Party of China (CPC) to exercise her power;2) answering such questions as"What is socialism, and how to build socialism","How to build CPC and what kind of CPC should we build","What types of development and how to develop"; 3) deepening reform, maintaining stability, promoting development, creating a harmonious atmosphere and opening wider to the outside world; and4) building a well-off society in an all-round way and hitting the target of rejuvenating the Chinese nation.A proper answer to the correlation between re-stratification of the social layers and the general requirements for the construction of a harmonious socialist society is a signification subject to study present before us in the critical period of reform and development. A wealth of research has been done by the ideological, theoretical and academic communities into re-stratification of the social layers and the construction of a harmonious society, yielding great achievements. Generally speaking, however, much of the research is conducted isolated from the perspective of philosophy, economics, political science, sociology, ethics, law, and statistics etc. A comprehensive study by integrating philosophy, economics, political science, law and sociology is still lacking. This thesis is intended to expound from a multi-disciplinary point of view the positive influences and the challenges of re-stratification of the social layers upon the construction of a harmonious society in the transitional period. On this basis, the author is to examine how to carry out the scientific development approach under the condition of re-stratification of the social layers and how to come up with better channels and creative solutions to construct a harmonious society. Setting priority to the central task of CPC, strengthening the CPC's ability to exercise power and offering fresh outlook and innovative suggestions are the highlights of the thesis. This, of course, entails strenuous exploration, but it is a worthwhile attempt, full of theoretical and practical implications.Through the analysis of the social phenomena, the thesis is aimed at discovering the inherent correlation between re-stratification of the social layers and the general requirements for the construction of a harmonious society, detecting in time the contradictions and conflicts in the course of reform and development, firmly grasping the factors contributing to such contradictions and conflicts and thus offering feasible countermeasures to facilitate the construction of a harmonious society. Through the in-depth analysis of the conditions and rules of the advancement of society (the correlations between re-stratification of the social layers and the general requirements for the construction of a harmonious society, the impact of the re-stratification upon the economy, politics, culture and thought, the correlation between the re-stratification and the scientific approach of development and the core value system of a harmonious society), the author is trying to formulate an effective mechanism to resolve social hazards. For example, what should be done to respond to the new situation of re-stratification so as to hammer out a creative solution, how to have a crystal clear understanding of the central task of the CPC, how to strengthen the base of the CPC and enhance her ability to exercise power, and lastly how to coordinate people of different classes and social layers. The thesis will be of reference value to the construction of a harmonious socialist society.It is proposed in the thesis in response to the challenges presented by re-stratification of the social layers that we should carry out the scientific development approach under the guidance of the theoretical system with Chinese characteristics so as to perfect the basic economic system with the collective ownership as the main form, that we should give full play to the productive force so as to narrow the gap between rich and poor, that we should promote the all-round sustainable development of the economy by advocating a people-oriented approach, that the CPC should work in even closer partnership with the masses so as to better cope with cases which happen quite unexpectedly and cases which involve a large group of people, that we should come up with new solutions to deal with contradictions of the people and to maintain social stability by enlarging the patriotic unifying ground, innovating the system and optimizing the policy, that we should coordinate the development of different social layers to help maintain social stability, that we should strengthen the political base for the harmonious development of the socialist society, that we should adhere to Marxism to reinforce the ideological base of the CPC and that we should consolidate the ideological and cultural base of the socialist society to enrich people's life by developing actively the socialist cultural undertakings. To sum up, to meet the demands of new situations, we should carry out to the letter the scientific development approach, guide the healthy development of different social layers, and strengthen the construction of the core value system of socialism so as to promote the construction of a harmonious society, hence consolidating all the bases necessary for the construction of a socialist harmonious society.
