| The transitional period refers to the period in which great social changes take place.The present research puts forward an academic concept of Social Transitional Period that a society experiences the transformation from agricultural society to industrial society,from closed,semi-closed society to open society,from homogenous society to heterogeneous society, and from unitary society to multidimensional society.If defined in terms of time,China's transitional period refers to the three decades since the adoption of the policy of reform and open-up(that is,from the year 1979). Social integration,also called integration of society,denotes both the process and the result of the unification and coordination of various social factors.When the issue of social integration is under discussion,its opposite side,social differentiation,will surely be mentioned,because these two issues claim the dialectical relationship of unity and oppositeness. In the process of China's social integration,it is of significance that the adherence of the CPC's leadership should be our social evaluation criteria, which has been considered as the premise for the healthy development of China's social integration.And this is characterized with stability of the core,difficulty of the task,and serving the people.The intensive political integration since 1949 to 1979 cannot adapt to the social conditions for marketization.At the same time,along with the deepening of reform and opening in scope and depth,as well as the changes in such fields as the allocation of resources,social structure and ideology,new requirements have been proposed.The modern China should equip herself with advanced theories as guidance in order to achieve correct development of her social integration.Therefore,the Scientific Development Outlook,the Strategy of Managing State Affairs According to Laws and the Three Major Ways of Governance can serve as important criteria to judge China's social integration.In practice,the social reality during the transitional period compels our party to keep pace with the times, to comply with the social changes in order to reconstruct the social integration mechanism,and to perfect the Integration path.Under the new background,the sound and scientific social integration mechanism should take the integration of benefit as its core,the political integration as the safeguard,the legal integration as the method,the organization integration as the backing,the ideological integration as the support,which can be labeled as the complete integration system of five-part.The construction of the socialist harmonious society is the significant strategic mission put forward from the overall distribution of the social course with Chinese characteristics and the overall situation of the comprehensive construction of the better-off society.It is the CPC's value pursuit in China's social integration and represents its direction and path. As a result,we should correctly grasp the basic features of the harmonious society,and better understand its scientific connotation;that is,we should treat it developmentally and dialectically.At the same time,we should further understand the dialectical relationships between the CPC's practice of social integration and the construction of the harmonious society.Since her establishment,the Communist Party of China has been struggling to realize the social harmony,and the history of the social integration during the transitional period is also a history of pursuing the harmonious society.
