The US-China relations are one of the most important bilateral relations. Chinese-Americans have constantly played an important role in the US-China relations both as individuals or communities in different periods. With the development of population and socio-economic strength, Chinese-Americans will play an even more active role in the bilateral relations.More and more ethnic groups participate in the US foreign affairs among the United States and their native countries in the background of the Multicultural Foreign Policy. It is legal in law and accepted by the U.S. society for Chinese-Americans to participate in the US-Chinese relations, both as American citizens and ethnic Chinese groups. The studies on Chinese-American's participation in the US-China relations should be regarded as part of studies on the ethnic groups' participation in the US foreign relations, and thus seen as object and center of the research, such as its resources, strategies, as well as limitations and prospects.The dissertation holds that the cultural identity as Chinese descendant and the facts that their situation is still affected by the US-China relations directly and greatly are the main reasons for Chinese-Americans to participate in the bilateral relations. Chinese-Americans have advantages and disadvantages on the resources of affecting US foreign affairs. Chinese-Americans have both positive and negative impacts on the US-China relations due to its diversity.This study shows that, Chinese-Americans have their own stance and interests on the US-China relations. However, Chinese-American and China also share common interests in the bilateral relations. The Chinese government should encourage the positive impacts of Chinese-American in their participation in the US-China relations, while giving enough concerns on their negative impacts.
