On Mulao Migrant And Social Change Of Minority Region

Population migration is a commonplace phenomenon throughout the human society. Since the Reforming and Opening, with the continuous development of market economy and the acceleration of urbanization, population transition and migration have become an inevitable trend of social and economic development of China, in the meantime, the size and depth still continue to expand. On the context, minority regions, which relatively closed in the past, also appeared increasingly frequent population movements. With the increasing trend of migration, a special group——floating population appeared, and the number of minority migrants also continued to grow. Because population transition and migration involved to origin, destination, migrants and other aspects, migrants have major impacts in all aspects of social life, causing extensive attention to government, research institutions and all sectors of society. Therefore, floating population is a group of great research value. According to previous studies, scholars researched not only floating population including minority migrants'deep syudy of but also all aspects of floating population, such as the floating reasons, the floating traits, even the floating impacts from the origin to the destination. Based on previous studies, this article comprehensiveiy used theory and methods of ethnology, demography, sociology and anthropology and other disciplines, as the entry point to Mulao migrants, through field-working, relying on detailed and adequate data of field survey, analyzed the impacts of minority floating population on minority region's economy, politics and culture, and leading to phenomenon of social changes. This paper argues that the impacts of minority floating population on minority region's social development have advantage and disadvantage. Promoting social progress is the mainstream, but we should not ignore the negative factors. We need to take effective measures to adjust these negative aspects to meet the needs of social development, and further point out specific path in this way floating population affects social changes. Thus, the paper forms a relatively complete theoretical framework which provides reference of the development of minority areas as the places of moving out.In addition to introduction and conclusions, the article is divided into six parts. Introduction. The paper discusses in the reason and significance of the topic, the theories and research methods. The paper reviews domestic and international status and results of the research about floating population and social changes, status and results of the research about Mulao Minority. We propose the basic idea, the main content and innovation ideas of this paper. The paper discusses the general concept of floating population and social changes, and respectively defined these concepts according to focus of the study.Chapter I, basic overviewing of Mulao Minority of Fengwu village. The paper introduces basic overview of Mulao Minority of Fengwu village. The paper describes geography, demographic profile, social background of Fengwu village and the history and traditional culture of Mulao Minority, in order to provide a broad background for subsequent research.Chapter II, origin and organizational status of Mulao migrants in Fengwu village. The paper introduces the overview of Mulao migrants in Fengwu village from the past to the present, and applies push-pull theory to analyze reasons of Mulao migrants in Fengwu village from the push of the output, the pull of the input and personal factors. On this basis, the paper statistics present Mulao migrants in Fengwu village through statistical method of forms, and summarizes the characteristics of the floating population from the age structure, gender, educational level, occupational structure, floating pattern, floating distance, income and consumption, etc.Chapter III, Mulao migrant and economic change. The paper introduces the overview of economic development in Fengwu village. The paper discusses the positive impacts of Mulao migrants on economic changes of ethnic region from economic life, agricultural development and urbanization.Chapter IV, Mulao migrant and political change. The paper introduces the traditional politics of Mulao Minority in Fengwu village. The paper analyzes positive effects of Mulao migrants on political changes from exaltation of democracy and legal awareness, Changes in the structure of local leaders, improvement social security and differentiation of social class structure etc.Chapter V, Mulao migrant and cultural change. Cultural changes are the most significant content which is affected by floating population. Mulao migrants exert asubtle influences on ideas, behaviors, language and education, urge them to improving making and modernity, and speed up modernization process of Mulao region.Chapter VI, problem and adaptation during the course of Mulao migrant and social change. Everthing has both advantages and disadvantages. The phenomenon of social changes which are caused by Mulao migrants is no different. The paper can conclude that effects on minority floating population should be analyzed into two. The positive impacts of social changes are major stream, which need to be focusde on its negative effects and take effective measures to adapt, in order to fit for social development.Conclusions. Based on the research, the paper further points out specific path in this way floating population affects social changes and further research aspects, and expands researching idea and exploring space of the topic.
