Doctoral education, which is the highest level of academic education, represents a country's talent training ability. It has great theoretical and practical significance on improving our international competitiveness, making China an innovative nation, and achieving the strategic goal of revitalizing China through talents. Since PhD students' innovative performance directly inflects the quality of PhD students, we need to analyze the factors affecting PhD students'innovative performance, and thus, cultivate more innovative PhD students.This thesis takes PhD students in science and engineering university as the research object, in view of research of PhD individuals and applies grounded theory analysis, empirical analysis and fuzzy evaluation theory to identify the key factors affecting PhD students'innovative performance and build a comprehensive evaluation model. By these methods, this thesis aims to find out an effective way to improve PhD students'innovative performance, thus promoting our country's training model of high-level talents. The specific contents are as follows:First, this dissertation summarizes the research status on PhD innovation both at home and abroad. It focuses on the impact factors of issues such as PhD cultivating model, quality, innovation ability and research performance, and provides reference for factors analysis affecting PhD students' innovative performance.Second, using grounded theory analysis, this dissertation constructs a conceptual model on factors affecting innovative performance of PhD students in science and engineering university. It has an in-depth interview with PhD students in science and engineering, by repeated comparison and cluster analysis, it figures out 58 concepts and 14 categories using open code. It collects three main categories by spindle encoder-'innovative personality','innovative behavior', and'innovative environment'. Based on that, it uses select encoding to pick up the key category--'factors affecting innovative performance of PhD students of science and engineering', and constructs the PBEP (Personality-Behavior-Environment-Performance) conceptual model. Third, using empirical analysis, this dissertation sets up the key index system affecting innovative performance of PhD students of science and engineering. It designs a questionnaire evaluating the three first-order factors, namely, innovative personality, innovative behavior and innovative environment. The questionnaire is distributed to a large number of subjects to test the factors affecting innovative performance of PhD students in science and engineering university. Based on that, it extracts the key index system and each of the indexes has two second-order factors.'Innovative personality' includes'innovative characteristic' and'innovative motivation';'Innovative behavior' includes'knowledge structure' and'research practice';'Innovative environment' includes 'research environment' and'management environment'.Forth, using fuzzy evaluation theory, this dissertation builds a comprehensive evaluation model on the key factors affecting PhD students' innovative performance in science and engineering university. It builds a comprehensive evaluation index system on innovative ability of PhD individual, including innovative consciousness, innovative thinking, innovative knowledge and innovative skills. It constructs a pair-wise comparison matrix, calculates the weight of each index using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and establishes a comprehensive evaluation model. It applies the fuzzy set theory in which triangle fuzzy numbers are used to represent each index value. It uses a practical example to test this evaluation model.Fifth, this dissertation puts forward methods for promoting innovative performance of PhD students in science and engineering university on the perspectives of innovative personality, innovative behavior, and innovative environment. With respect to innovative personality, it suggests building innovative ability cultivation bases for PhD students to help them enhance self-confidence, increase will power, strengthen mental training, and stimulate innovative motivation, thus letting them make full use of their potential. With respect to innovative behavior, it suggests establishing scientific research and innovation practice platforms for PhD students to help them consummate knowledge structure on professional knowledge, discipline frontier, and writing ability; strengthen the ability on information tracking, experimental operation, and interpersonal communication. With respect to innovative environment, it suggests robusting PhD students'innovative performance cultivation to create for them a better researching, administrating and living environment.
