As we all know, hi-tech industry based on technical entrepreneurship has entered a rapidly developing period with contemporary society rapidly evolving into a post-industrial one. To meet the industrial transformation and upgrading, entrepreneurial engineering talents will play a vital role in the industrial development and social advancement of this century. It's engineering education's obligatory responsibility to cultivate these talents needed by society and times. However, there is hardly any specialized training mode in prevailing engineering educational system. Upon that, we believe that the research on training model for entrepreneurial engineering talents is in urgent need as a response to both theory and practice.Based on the perspective of practical knowledge and the conception of constructivism knowledge, this study constructed a theoretical analysis framework to design a training mode of entrepreneurial engineering talents, employing specific technical methods such as documentary research, comparative analysis, interviews, etc. On the basis of studying the problems in current entrepreneurial engineering talents training, successful overseas cases are explored for reference.Entrepreneurial engineering talents mainly refer to application type talents in high-tech industry or enterprise. The difference between entrepreneurial engineering talents and general ones is the ability for technology commercialization which stands for converting technology into industry or industry chains facing the market. Therefore, professional technology is the base, operation and management is the core for entrepreneurial engineering talents. Entrepreneurship is a behavior of synergic teamwork, which needs various kinds of entrepreneurial engineering talents engaging in market investigation, research and development, products manufacturing, logistics assurances, financial management, etc. to complete all of the works in industry chain.Taking the major of optoelectronics as an example, this study designs the training goal of entrepreneurial engineering talents mainly according to the interviews with successful entrepreneurs in optoelectronics field, demands from industries, actual situation of universities. Our training goal includes first-degree goal leading the training direction, second-degree goal which standardizing the training standards, third-degree goal monitoring the training means. And the key point of our research is the second-degree goal, from the aspects of knowledge, ability and professional awareness. At the same time, we summarized the successful entrepreneurs'common character traits such as innovative spirit, rational spirit of adventure and sensitivity of opportunities, and common behavioral features such as market first, resources integration and decision making. We believe that all these abilities and spirits could give us inspiration in the designing of training program for entrepreneurial engineering talents.Engineering Entrepreneurship Education is one kind of practical education, in which students should not only grasp the theory knowledge but also the practical knowledge that emphasizes the ability of students of complex problems solving in occupational settings. Practical knowledge including knowledge, ability and professional awareness is based on the understanding of theoretical knowledge, the reflection and experience of individual practice. In other words, practical knowledge is what and how to do in a specific context, and a practice of transforming wisdom into knowledge and ability. There are mainly two kinds of practical knowledge, one is technical knowledge for external things, and the other one is cognitive knowledge for mental needs. However, the main problem in current training model is that we pays much more attention to theoretical knowledge teaching than practical knowledge learning, without the conception of constructivism knowledge, which restricted the development of entrepreneurial engineering talents training. How to incorporate practical knowledge into talents training is the key point for both teaching reform and our study.Given overseas experiences learning, we select University of Warwick in England and North Carolina State University in America as actual cases to analyze their means to develop students'practical knowledge. Then we conclude the features of entrepreneurial engineering talents training mode:learners should construct the meaning of knowledge through learning by doing to achieve expected learning results, but the premise is the combination of scenes creation, group learning and own experience. On that basis, according to the analytical framework of constructivism knowledge conception, we come to our conclusions as following. Firstly, combining engineering entrepreneurial process and industrial chain content we constructed the E-CDIO model based on Entrepreneur and CDIO model. Then we put forward the conception of "comprehensive engineering entrepreneurial training based on program-based learning", which is a practical knowledge emphasized and holistic training mode consisted of conceiving, designing, implementing and operating. Secondly, we designed an integrated curriculum, in which program training consisted of project training, course learning and internship program, is the main teaching way. Furthermore, in order to implement integrated curriculum and to achieve expected learning results, implementation strategies, which need scenes creation, group learning and own experience, are put forward to gain integrated learning experience. In this process, students are in the subject position while teachers only provide them with guidance. At last, both process-based and result-based evaluation is adopted to evaluate students' learning processes and results for their potential improvement and development.
