The aim of this paper is to study the theoretical basis for comprehensive evaluation on the benefit from running school in higher education and put forward technical ways with new ideas by comprehensively using the theory and method of system science, education science, economics, management science, statistics and extension set. The studied contents are as follows:1.On the basis of analyzing and comprehensively describing the development and current situation, experience and enlightment of the comprehensive evaluation studies and practice on the benefit from running school in higher education at home and broad, the author of this paper has made a systematic exposition of the intension, properly and feature of the benefit from the running school in higher education according to its logical sequence from the abstract to the concrete.2.This paper has systematical analyzed the fixed position, structure, scale, quality and management of the benefits from running school in higher education by multi-disciplinary theories and methods, pointed out the variable in main factors, set forth the development track of the sudden coordination change of higher education under some special conditions and the basic factors and ways of scientifically and reasonably fixed position, and put forward the new point of view that teaching staff is the original motive force of the control activities of teaching and research of a school, all of which have provided the building of evaluation norm system with the basis.3.This paper has clearly put forward that evaluation of the benefits from running school in higher education must adhere to the Maxist point of view of the two yardsticks: "Objects become subjective" and "Subjects become objective", by applying philosophy, system science and the basic theory and method of education evaluation. Under this ideological guidance, this paper has studied the purpose and function of the comprehensive evaluation, the subject of the evaluation, the types of evaluation, the application of techniques of fixed quantity and the techniques of fixed quality, and evaluation procedures about the benefits from running school in higher education. 4.This has studied the selective factors of evaluation norm, the structure design of evaluation norm, the design of weighing of evaluation norm, and the theoretical basis, techniques and methods of the determination of evaluation standers, and put forward the problems to which attention should be paid and suggestions for improvement in accordance with the need of evaluation of the benefits from running school in higher education are classified into profit type, control type and background type, which gives the system frame of evaluation norms with certain characteristics.5.On the basis of brief comments on the evaluation methods, this paper has introduced the extension method into the comprehensive evaluation on benefits from running school in higher education, studied the basic thinking, basic concept and mathematical model of the extension method and the basic procedures of its application, and given practical calculation examples in accordance with the comprehensive evaluation on the benefits from running school in higher education, analyzed the results, and put forward the conclusion of the feacible and effective evaluation method.
