The development of modern Chinese textbook sees a history of about 100 years since Chinese was offered as a single subject at the beginning of the 20th century. As the carrier of Chinese curriculum, its development is a complicated, much-expected, and controversial process. Considering the lack of research on the development principles, my dissertation is intended to reset the objectives of Chinese textbook, work out a framework for development, and give a deep probe into the three key factors for Chinese textbook development. At the end, the author foresees a tendency of electronic Chinese textbook. All in all, the author hopes her arduous work can lay a good foundation for other colleagues'further research. My dissertation falls into five parts and nine chapters, and has a broad coverage of topics. The following are the details.Part One, with introductory words and chapter one "On the rudimentary problems about Chinese textbook"included, deals with such things as the problems to be solved, the importance and the coverage of my research, and the study of the Chinese textbook's connotation, role and function.Part Two, with chapter two "the multi-dimensional theoretical research on Chinese textbook development" included, makes a detailed inquiry into the three theories of referring value, which are pedagogical theory, cognitive psychology and theory about knowledge.Part Three, including chapter three "the transformation of Chinese education's value" and chapter four "the objective setting of Chinese textbook". In this part, the author probes into the Chinese curriculum content in a brand new way, and puts forward a footing for Chinese textbook development, that is, the idea of balance-based Chinese curriculum.Part Four, including chapter five "Constructing a framework for Chinese textbook development", chapter six "On the content of Chinese textbook" and chapter eight "On the unfolding of the Chinese textbook". This part is the pitch of my dissertation in that it is intended to work out a framework for Chinese textbook development and give a deep analysis to the three key factors that are indispensable to the framework.Part Five, with chapter nine "on the prospect of Chinese textbook" and the epilogue included, reviews all the work done in retrospect, foresees the tendency of Chinese textbook development, that is, the growing-up of electronic Chinese textbook, and tries probing into the advantages and functions of Chinese textbook. At the end,the author puts forward the shortage of her research and makes clear her standpoints and attitudes.
