A Study On The Value Orientation Of Modern Mathematics Curriculum

The value orientation of mathematics curriculum is the direct and concentrated understanding and grasp of the value of mathematics curriculum ,which is an intermediate link between the values and practice of mathematics curriculum. However, the mathematics educational circles in our country have done little research on this aspect.Mathematics curriculum must seek the value orientation suited to the development of times. Laying stress on the application of mathematics, the development of people s mathematical quality as well as the pluralistic value has become the common pursue of international mathematics curriculum value. The development of modem mathematics curriculum value is characterized by pluralism, balance and humanism according to the influence elements of mathematics curriculum composition. However, the double-characteristic of mathematics curriculum determines the mathematics curriculum's basic value: practical value and rational value. So the value orientation of modern mathematics curriculum should be the conformity on the basis of the basic value of mathematics curriculum and reflect the natural of mathematics. In the end, the paper examines the mathematics curriculum in our country from the angle of values ,and proposes own points view and suggestions about the modern mathematics curriculum design. Main work done:1 .Analyze and examine the trends of international mathematics curriculum value according to the historical development of the curriculum philosophy and the reform of international mathematics curriculum.2.Propose the basic value of mathematics curriculum on the basis of analysis on the characteristics of mathematics. Discuss the development of modern mathematics curriculum value according to the development of society, mathematics as well as the needs of the students.3.Propose that the value orientation of modem mathematics curriculum should be the conformity on the basis of the basic value of mathematics curriculum .4.Examine the mathematics curriculum in our country from the angle of values ,and propose own points view and suggestions about the modern mathematics curriculum design.
