Different from those technique-oriented researches, this research aims to place emphasis on the significance of studying the integration of the information technology and the writing instruction from a "subject" perspective. In another word, researches on the integration of information technology and the writing instruction are conducted to meet the needs of the writing instruction.Firstly, issues arising from integrating information technology into the writing instruction are discussed under the background of integrating information technology into curriculum. Through analyzing the issues developing in the process of advancing the concept of integrating information technology into curriculum as well as those existing in its implementation, the fact that "the context of a subject" keeps a weak link in the integration of information technology and curriculum is revealed. Thus, the importance of the "subject" perspective is put forward and the conceptions and meanings of the context of a subject and the subject perspective are defined. Meanwhile, the basic meaning of the context of information technology and its place in this research are briefly analyzed. (Chapter 1)Secondly, the implementation of integrating information technology into the writing instruction is observed from the perspective of the subject. To be specific, based on the three primary points - what to write, how to write, how it is written - in the writing course, this research presents the practical activities or products, which form consciously or unconsciously, of the integration of information technology and the writing instruction. Through presenting and analyzing, this paper gives prominence to two basic issues worth pondering in the integration of information technology and the writing instruction instead of emphasizing the technological forms of the practical activities and products. One of the basic issues is what kind of writing and writing problems, which are existing or may arise in writing and writing instruction, should be paid close attention to. For example, the point of how to write involves in writing tools, the forms of works, writing methods and strategies, etc. The second basic issue is what special significance the information technology will have when it is directed against writing and writing instructions. For instance, the internal relationship between the information technology and the writing process is certainly different from that between the information technology and the forms of written works. These are what the writing instruction intends to focus on and to deal with appropriately. (Chapter 2, 3,4)Thirdly, according to the implementation of integrating information technology into the writing instruction, this research paper frames a basic developmental space and discusses the role that the basic theories play. The discussion on the developmental space is mainly revolved around the relationship between the writing instruction in an information technological environment and a non-informationtechnological environment. The purpose of discussing the basic theories is to make clear what kinds of basic theories may be involved in the integration of information technology and the writing instruction as well as in what kinds of fundamental ways they function. All the above researches are subject-based. (Chapter 5,6)Finally, this research gives a basic framework of designing of and a sample designing for the integration of information technology and the writing instruction. Both the basic framework of designing and the sample designing are aimed to underline the role of subjects in integrating information technology into the writing instruction. Take the sample designing of the On-line Learning Field for Journalism Writing as an example, it concentrates on the choice, the significance, and the designed purpose of a writing topic.
