The research on student teacher education is a hot problem which wins an international attention ,and is a strategic problem normal university has to confront . We must search for efficient way to arm our student teachers to have foundational ability and capacity . Naturally ,teacher educators head to train each student teacher to be an expert ,but most research on novice and expert emphasis the general characters about class management or teaching theory , few on teacher's subject knowledge . Lacking of enough content knowledge leads student teachers to spend all the limited time not on how to preparing content to make students understand easier but on content learning . Student teachers with good knowledge preparation have more possibility to adopt vivid way on teaching and reaction ,to provide not only procedure knowledge but also conceptual explanation. They pay much attention to the organization and inner connection of knowledge and less on providing content information . Does Chinese student teachers have well profound understanding that we believe ? According to NBPTS ,we find out the result is different from what we imagine . Resent research shows people far beyond to get the answer in this field . Most of the research focus on describing current condition and compose assumption .Of course there are some valuable works , but how to develop student teachers' professional knowledge is still a problem.With this background , the chapter one of this paper pose this problem "how do student teacher develop their substantive knowledge of some concept, gain profound understanding of some mathematics concept ,and get better knowledge structure, and professional development ?" This problem can be divided into three smaller problems (1)How to estimate student teachers substantive knowledge ?Do they lack of this kind of knowledge ?
