The dissertation is a educational historical case study on the Flowery Miao (花苗) in Shimenkan (石门坎) in one-hundred years. In the case, I will discuss the relationships between achievement of Flowery Miao'S students and culture adaptation. In the one-hundred years, the education of Flowery Miao went through a uncommon road from an ethnic minority which has no school, nobody know literacy to be "the Educational Holy Land of Miao Ethnic Minority", during the period, bachelor, doctor was to be educated , but now the education here falls far behind other minorities.The study uses the family's education history of Yang Hua Ming of Flower Miao in Shimenkan as an example to show the situation of adaptation of culture and the achievement of Flower Miao in education with oral history method and field investigation. Education was getting stronger after the Christianity entered Shimenkan. In the period of Christianity education, Christianity culture, Western culture, Flower Miao' culture mingled to be a multiple-culture picture, students of Flower Miao didn't encounter difficulty on adaptation in the multiple culture environment, they got brilliant educational achievement in 40 years. During initial post-liberation period, the culture of school was not be reformed for all, achievement of Flower Miao has certain improved. From the culture revolution to now, student of Flower Miao adapt the culture of school difficultly because the culture in school is far from them and change fast. In result, there is a marked drop in their study achievement; Flower Miao and Shimenkan become the backward minority and area in education.The study considers that there are several reasons on rise and decline in education in Shimenkan, they are social development, history and culture, but the culture is key factor. When there is little difference between school culture and the background culture of Flower Miao's student, the school respect and absorb Miao's culture to build a multiple culture environment, students of Flower Miao would not encounter great difficulty on culture adaptation, and get high study achievement; if the school culture far from the student, pay less attention or repel to the Miao's culture, students would met difficulty on culture adaptation, low study achievement is common feature. So mainstream culture school not only emphasize adaptation which minority student should be accept school culture, but also stress that school culture should adapt and absorb local minority student's culture to eliminate the difficulty in adaptation of minority student.The thesis insists on investigateing the education from local people's angle and gives them enough time and opportunity to show their ideas. The problem that the thesis talks about is to help to resolve the problem of minority education and remote rural.
