The endocrine and immune system turns to imbalance after prolonged, intense exertion.The nutrition supplement seems to be effective to decrease the response of endocrine and immune system to exercise stress. To determine the effect of nutrition on the immune and stress hormone response,following experiment had been measured.Milk peptide was selected for its containing rich glutamic acid. According to the standard of relative rules,peptide sport drink(PS) is made after optimazing its formulating and taste.Peptide drink(P),sport drink(S) and control(C) drinks are also made for the same taste and color.Method:A counterbanlanced trial was made.10 healthy untrained male subjects(21.3±1.06 years old) completed 3 d of diatery intake record, and consumed either a PS beverage(0.8g CHO/kg·h,0.4g peptide/kg·h),S (0.8g CHO/kg·h),P(0.4g peptide/kg·h),or a control drink before,during, afer 1h cycling trial at 70%VO2max which lasted four weeks.Blood in vein,blood of finger were taken before exercise,30 minutes during and after exercise to analysis the immune and physiological indexes.Result:(1) The level of Gln declined significantly after an acute exercise,Leu# and Leu%,ACTH,Cor,GH increased during the exercise and declined after the exercise.(2) CHO ingestion maintained higher concentration of blood glucose level during the exercise and the recovery within 120 min compared with C group.The CHO oxidation rate increased while the fat oxidation rate decreased in S group,and the level of blood lactate acid are higher than other groups.(3) The level of GH increased significantly,while the level of ACTH and Cor decreased markedly during exercise in P group.(4) The Leu# decreased markedly in the post-exercise 120 min period in PS group compared with other groups.(5) The level of Ins increased and ACTH and Cot decreased markedly in the post-exercise period in PS group.(6) The level of blood glucose maintained,and the fat oxidation rate increased markedly during exercise in PS group,The level of Gln maintained in the post-exercise period while the BUN level are lower than P group.Conclusions:(1)Significant response of stress endocrine and immune system has been found to 1 h cycle ergometer exercise at 70%VO2max in this trial.(2)Milk peptide ingestion with CHO can attenuate the stress endocrine and immune system responses induced by exercise stress,which may be adjusted by energy metabolism for the CHO and immune cell during and after exercise.
