Study On Cultivation System Of Master Post-graduates In PE Training In China

The 21st century is a period with knowledge capitalization , economic globalization and information networking, with the development of economy and technology in the world ,the higher education is confronted with severe challenge. the country whose higher education is in the leading position will move into the lead in the international competition. Under this direction ,our post-graduate education has been progressing with marvellous rapidity. From 1981 when the academic degree system was implemented in the field of PE, the enrollment scale has been steadily enlarged. From 1998 to 2007, the enrollment number was increased from 331 to 4000 , the total number of post-graduate students at school and college was increased from 883 to 11875, the growth rate is above 10 times. In 2008, 5300 post-graduates will be enrolled, including 5000 master post-graduates, and 300 doctor post-graduates. The rapid expanding of the post-graduate scale must affect the post-graduate cultivation quality and force us to consider how to improve the quality.The methods of documentary ,survey, system analysis, comparison and mathematical statistics are used in the paper. Nine factors of enrollment size, cultivation objective, enrollment style, course setup, specialty establishment, educational system, dissertation, supervisor troop and quality evaluation about Cultivation System of Master post-graduate Majored in PE Training in China are analyzed in the paper, and six factors which exist serious problems are made as the optimization core , so as to reconstruct , provide reference for reform and development, and improve the cultivation quality of Cultivation System of Master post-graduate Majored in PE Training in China in new century by reviewing its development course, making questionnaire and interview on master post-graduates, supervisors and administrators of PE Training in 23 sports colleges or universities. The results are as follows:1. During the last two decades or more, the special field of PE training has cultivated a lot of excellent PE talented pelople for the socialism construction and economic development, it's cultivation number , units, special fields and geographical distribution are greatest in PE persons with ability.2. The investigation of the status of cultivation system for our Master post-graduate Majored in PE Training reflected many problems ,they are (1) At present , the cultivation of the post-graduates has been influenced by the traditional education ideas ,which was localized at academic cultivation ,the theory cultivation was over emphasized, the sports skills of the post-graduates were neglected .(2) It is difficult to absorb the students who are good at sport skills into the colleges through the entrance examination, the unfair phenomenon exists between the non-PE examinees and the PE examinees.(3) There are some problems in the courses installation ,they are unreasonable ratio between the compulsory and elective courses ,deficient depth and width of the courses, and smallness in the range of selected courses. (4) Cultivation units'educational system of master post-graduates in PE training lacks flexibility, and can not satisfy the needs of different post-graduates groups. Most of the supervisors and post-graduates are opt to support 2-3 years flexible educational system.3. The characteristic profession ability of the master post-graduate Majored in PE Training is showed in sports skill and considerable scientific research abilities, this destination points out the direction for our cultivation of the master post-graduate Majored in PE Training, which should be the cultivation of applied compound talents.4. How to improve the cultivation quality of the master post-graduate Majored in PE Training ,the crucial factor is not the enlarged recruitment scale, but the optimization and coordination of functions and the structures among the elements of the cultivation system.5.
