Study On Development Strategy Of Wood-based Panel Industry In China

With rapid economic development, China's wood-based industry has developed quickly with the support of domestic industrial policy, and China has become the world's strong power of wood-based panel production and consumption. But in recent years, with rapid changes of economic and social environment home and abroad and industry structure, China's wood-based industry is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges, such as low competitiveness, development model backward, poor sustainability has been the key issues of wood-based panels industrial development. In the long run, the key to the development of wood based panel industry in China is not the speed issue, but the economic structure adjustment and transformation issues. The key to solve these problems is to design a strategic system suitable for the industrial practices and developing rules of wood-based panels industry, in order to ensure the industry have a stable, sustainable and healthy development.Based on industry economics, industrial competitiveness and strategic management theory, take wood-based panel industry development environment around the world as the background, this paper analyzes the development strategy environment of wood-based industry in China through the international competitive advantage theory and strategic environmental analysis, analyzes strategic models of wood-based panel from two perspective of thinking Mode and developing mode, designs content development strategy according to the advantages disadvantages, Opportunities and Challenges for the industry, and conduct empirical case studies, then organizes and implements the industry development strategy from the macro, meso and micro dimensions, and at last accomplishes the design of a complete strategy system.Paper is divided into eight chapters, namely (1) Introduction; (2) theoretical basis of study; (3) wood-based panel industry trends and the status; (4) Development Strategy Environmental Analysis of wood-based panel industry; (5) analysis of wood-based panels strategic model of industrial development; (6) the content of wood-based industry development strategy and case analysis; (7)organization and implementation of wood-based industry development strategies; (8) conclusions and discussion.The conclusions or results include:(1) at present, China's wood-based industry is still on the stage of the labor-intensive evolving to capital-intensive, but the technology (knowledge) intensive features are gradually strengthened; (2) from the world's wood-based industry development trend, the direction of future development of wood-based panel industry will take sustainable development as a goal, considering the cost, function, environment and other factors, wood-based industry continue to promote technological progress, scientific management and continuing operations, and then industrial adjustment and upgrading will speed up the pace;. (3) of wood-based industry, there are many problems:lack of wood raw material resources, low level of production technology, management backward, and disorderly competition, small-scale enterprises which lack economies of scale, product quality and environmental standards backward, lag behind developed countries in product quality, energy consumption, labor productivity, production; (4)wood-based industry thinking mode is divided into four types producing, technical thinking, marketing thinking, and strategic thinking, and showed features of gradual evolution and cross-integration. On the whole, the strategic thinking should be taken as the leading mode of thinking to guide the development of wood-based industry, quality-oriented development mode is the inevitable choice to enhance the quality and international competitiveness of wood-based industry; (5) strategies of securing the supply of raw materials, technological progress, management innovation, competitive specification, the scale of business and green development are the inevitable choice to achieve sustainable development of wood-based industry in China; (6) the organization and implementation of wood-based industry development strategy needs to improve the design of industrial strategy system from three levels of macro (government-led adjustment), meso (industry associations) and micro (enterprise innovation and collaboration), to ensure its implementation.
