The Researches On Development Motivation Of China's Wood-based Panel Industry

China's wood-based panel industry has made great achievements after 80 years of development. Especially in the last 20 years, the industry developed very fast and has become the first in the field of wood-based panel production. Wood-based panel industry has made tremendous contributions for the efficient use of timber resources to achieve sustainable forestry development strategy.The paper is based on historical events, theoretical analysis,theoretical guidance for practice, the integration of qualitative and quantitative analysis and some other research methods to study the development Motivation of China's wood-based panel industry. It can help us to understand our wood-based panel industry status and development trends by finding the key drivers and to make some reference for wood-based panel industry development policy and enterprise development strategies.The development of China's wood-based panel industry has gone through three phases. During the first two phases(1920--1980),the development of the industry was extremely slow, small scale, low output, low levels of technology and applications were not widely. In the third stage(1980--present), wood-based panel industry develops very fast. The production and the level of the technology are rapidly increasing. Production capacity continues to expand and implementation of the main investment has achieved diversification.This paper describes some general theory about the industrial growth, mainly including : industrial structure theory, the theory of economic growth, industrial organization theory, the theory of Institutional Change. Based on these general theories, we sum up wood-based panel industry growth pattern and refine the seven biggest drivers about promoting the development of wood-based panel industry: the structure evolution of three industrial, institutional changes, the internal structure evolution of industrial, resource supply, the development of downstream industries, technological advances, economies of scale and the effective competition.This paper analyzes the specific development of the seven drivers and the promotion to the industrial growth. In the overall economic rapid development and further promotion of industrialization process, the wood-based panel industry has developed rapidly; the establishment of the socialist market economy and an open economy, make the non-public economy become the wood-based panel main reinforcements;in the increasing tense situation of domestic resources, the import of resources to the development of wood-based panel industry has provided a strong guarantee; The prosperity of the real estate industry, the vigorous development of the furniture industry and the construction industry, as well as more extensive field application, open a broad market space for the wood-based panel; Advances in technology, especially the introduction of foreign technology, reduces the wood-based panel product cost and improves product quality. They promote the wood-based panel industry growth together. They are closely related with the development of wood-based panel industry.
