Research On The Upgrad Of Chinese Local Producing Foreign Trade Enterprises Based On Global Value Chain

Exports has grown to an important part of China's GDP and a major engine of domestic economic growth. China's total imports and exports has accounted about half of the gross domestic product, the relationship between domestic and foreign markets becomes more closely and China's economy has been integrated into the division of labor of global value chain.International trade enterprises play a role of the link and bridge between domestic and foreign markets in the activities of labor division in the global value chain, especially the international trade enterprises of producting with production, processing and export trade are in the dominant position of communication. But in recent years, local trade enterprises of production in global value chains in the process highlighted a series problems of the low capacity, poor technique, serious pollution, low profit, and other issues, so the restructuring and upgrading of enterprises became the urgent problem to be solved. Thus, the research topic of " The research on upgrading of Chinese local production trade enterprises based on global value chain " has been proposed.It is explained that the necessity and urgency of upgrading for local production of trade enterprises based on the global value chain through systematically review of literature and empirical data analysis, combined with the status of foreign trade enterprises and the basic features of the global value chain, proposed three ways of upgrading local production trade enterprises in China based on the global value chain, and explored the evaluation of ability of upgrading for different types of enterprises and upgrade time. Finally, the dissertation empirically validates the result of the research on the theoretical analysis of the actual data.The main work and research conclusions of the dissertation are:The first part summarizes the main concept and relative thoery in the research. Due to the discipline differences inbackground, different scholars' research ways and thinking methods about the globla value chain, enterprise upgrading, and the relation in export and economy increasing are not the same. The dissertation compares and analyses the research achievement, and demonstrates the main conception of the research. Besides, the dissertation records the characteristic, progress, current situation, and tendency of local production foreign trade enterprise, explicits the practice context of the research, and manifests the real meaning of the research. The second part analysises the mechanism of upgrading local production of trade enterprises based on the global value chain. In this chapter, it divides the local production trade enterprises into four kinds based on the ability they have: low-level production enterprises, high production-oriented enterprises, innovative enterprises and knowledge-based enterprises.When enter the division of labor into the global value chain system, the first two production-oriented enterprises are upgrading the direction of lower costs, increasing added value in the production chain, which is based on the lateral expansion of the global value chain, reflecting the flattening of the smile curvedeformation; innovative enterprises are changing the direction of upgrading the global strategy on the part of the value chain to high value-added production processes penetrate the space, which is based on the vertical penetration of the global value chain, reflecting the same smile curve on the strategic point of conversion; the direction of knowledge-based enterprises upgrade the conversion value chain from low value added value in the transition to high value-added chain, the magnitude of the value chain, which is based on the global value chain ladder transitions, reflecting the low level from high level to smile the smile curvecurve conversion. The third part probes into the evaluation system upgrade of our local enterprises engaged in productive foreign trade based on global value chain. On the basis of the review of existing research results, this part constructs a set of evaluation index system about our local enterprises engaged in productive foreign trade based on global value chain upgrade capacity. On this basis, this chapter calculates the index corresponding to the comprehensive weight with AHP, which lays the enterprises based on global value chains to upgrade the evaluation for comprehensive basis of membership. In addition, this chapter also defines the global value chain based on a comprehensive capacity assessment and corporate types attached to the correspondence between the address of the global value chain in China based on the local foreign trade enterprises to upgrade the production capacity evaluation. The forth part issues on the time of choosing in Chinese local production of foreign trade enterprises which are in the global value chain, to implement a upgrading project. The project would be implemented when it brings maximized profits. This part learns from the model of the opportunity for investment options and the implementation of the upgrading project is regarded as an uncertain option. In addition, it illustrates the opportunity of maximizing the profit for those enterprises to implement the projects.A case have been empirically analysed to evaluate ability of upgrading and the time for choosing in those indigenous foreign trade enterprises. And the theoretical analysis in Chapter 4, 5 and 6 have been verified as well. A large power tools company in Jiangsu Province, as a practical example, provides significant empirical analyses for theories in the paper. It has been observed that the empirical study of quantitative and qualitative research results in homogeneity. Finally, the lack of the research and made the prospection have been summarized.
