Along with the refinement of production division and the progress of technological innovation, service industries particularly certain types of producer services has become the fastest growing segment and plays an increasingly important economic role in economic development. As intermediate inputs for industry, producer services provides more professional support and assistance for the manufacturing industry and becomes the propeller for the economic prosperity in developed countries and region. It can speed up the urbanization process of upgrading and enhance the comprehensive service functions and competitiveness of the industries and regions. The foreign scholars'research about the producer services industry and the regional economic growth usually focused on the theoretical level or simple statistical analysis and lacked the empirical analysis using econometric approach. The research about producer services by domestic scholars began to appear just ten years ago, and the majority of research is at the exploratory stage making introduction absorption and about foreign country. This dissertation treats the development of producer services as the research object. We collected domestic and foreign research and literature and make certain kinds of digestion and absorption. On this foundation, we make the empirical analysis on the regional differences and industry differences of the development of producer services impact on economic growth. We also explore and construct the corresponding empirical analysis model about the factors affecting the development producer services industry and make an empirical test.Firstly, we make the analysis and presentation on the relative theory about the producer services and economic growth. The main content of the basic ideas of division of labor theory, transaction cost theory and the theory of industrial clustering have been introduced. Based on the basic theory, and drawing on existing research results, we treat the production cost and efficiency, expertise and skills, the three aspects of the special needs as the main driving forces for the development of producer services. With industrial economic theory and economic growth theory, relevant research results from home and abroad, we make the analysis about the interaction between producer services and division of labor, productivity, technological innovation, industrial cluster and business environment. On this foundation, we build the analytical framework about affecting mechanism of producer services to the regional economic growth.Secondly, we analyze the regional differences of the impact from producer services to the economic growth with the empirical panel data model. Through the descriptive statistical analysis and comparison of the development of producer services between the east district, central district and western district, we can see that there are obvious regional differences for their development level of economy and producer services industry. Based on the above analysis, this dissertation builds the appropriate model for empirical analysis on the impact of producer services to economic growth, and makes and empirical test about the regional differences with the panel data of 30 provinces from 1997 to 2009. The results show that the producer services to the eastern region was higher than economic growth in central and western regions, but between the central and western regions there is no significant difference. For the general theory analysis, the impact of producer services on economic growth will increase with the promotion of regional economy.Thirdly, we make an empirical test about the industrial differences of the impact on economic growth by producer services with panel data model. The producer services industry includes the transport storage and communications, wholesale and retail and business services, finance and insurance, real estate, research and social service. We check their overall situation of each industry and compared their development differences in east district, central district and west district, and find that different industry plays certain kinds of role in economic growth. Described in the foregoing analysis, based on this selection of 30 provinces from 1997 to 2009, the panel data to the transport storage and communications, wholesale and retail and business services, finance and insurance, real estate, four sub-sectors of economic growth are empirically tested. We also compared the different conditions of the four sub-sectors to the economic growth in the eastern, central and western regions. Finally, we constructed a theoretical analysis model of factors affecting the development of producer services, and make an empirical analysis of influencing factors by the use of relevant statistical data. This dissertation chose the specialized division of labor, producer services efficiency, industrial base, commercial business environment, industry concentration, and economic openness as the main affecting factors for the development of producer services industry by drawing on the experience of western countries and fully into account the actual situation of economic and social development in China. We make an empirical test on the factors affecting the development of producer services from the national level and regional level with the panel data of China's 30 provinces form 1997 to 2009. The result shows that the impact of the affecting factors is significant different in east district, central district and west district of China. The local governments and authorities should select the appropriate policies and measures according to local economic development and industrial structural features, and provide a conductive environment and platforms for the development of producer services.
