A Study On Regional Investment Environment Appraisal In China Based On CAM

Investment is one of the most important elements that can promote the regional economy. The investment environment is a decisive factor for the investors. The valuation and comparison on regional investment environment not only helps the investors to make decisions correctly, but also helps the regions with foreign investment to improve their investment environment. Therefore, since 1960's, the research on investment environment has been blooming. With the reform and opening and the growing economy, the entire investment environment in China has improved remarkably. However, the regional condition and policy guide in different zones vary so much that their investment environments vary remarkably as well. Therefore, it's very meaningful both theoretically and practically to evaluate the regional investment environment in China.Based on the existing researches from home and abroad, this essay sorts out the history of the theory of valuating investment environment and the valuating methods accordingly. This essay points out the defects of the existing researches, which are the neglect of the variety within the area, the different requirement of investors, the development of the investment environment, as well as the relevance and harmonization. What's more, these researches mostly merely use single valuation method, which can be partial and conflicting. From this perspective, the essay chooses the angle of the competency of regional investment environment, takes different areas in China as samples, and evaluates the regional investment environment in China using the combining valuation method thus overcomes the one-sidedness of existing research, and makes the result more objective, reliable and conform to reality.Two levels of analysis are involved in this essay:the theoretical analysis of the environment of regional investment and the corresponding researches in the reality. There are all together nine chapters developing with the theme. Chapter 1 introduces the motivation of the research, raises the main problems, thoughts, methods, innovations, as well as relevant concepts. Chapter 2 sorts the references about the investment environment theory. It mainly introduces the international trade theory, location theory and the regional economics theory, which builds a theoretical base for the essay at the aspects of analyzing framework, building area investment environment valuation index and so on. Chapter 3 discusses the basic problems of regional investment environment from the basic concepts, basic principles, researching methods and main contents. Chapter 4 descriptively analyzes the situation,change and trend of regional investment environment from the angles of the general situation, regional differences and 6 provinces in central area. Chapter 5 looks back on the methods used to valuate regional investment environment home and abroad, compares and concludes the most accepted valuation index system, and builds the valuation index system accordingly. Chapter 6 discusses the principles, steps, advantages and disadvantages of quantitative approach, which is also known as the combining valuation method. Chapter 7:based on the index system built mentioned above and the valuation model, this chapter adopts combining valuation method in the practical analysis to assess the area investment environment of many regions in china especially 6 provinces of in the central area. Chapter 8 brings feasible thoughts and suggestions to improve the regional investment environment in China based on the practical analysis. Finally, in Chapter 9, several basic conclusions are drawn, and the direction of further research is also discussed.
