The corporate social responsibility has become one of the most important topics in both management practice and research with the development of the society and economy. However, corporate social responsibility as a contextual factor in human resources management has not been rigorously researched. Which kind of responsibility the companies should be followed? But now, the research on social responsibility has combined with other management topics especially in human resources management. The goal of this research was to develop an understanding of the role ethical leadership plays in how corporate social responsibility influence on employee's work attitudes and behavior. The design of the study was based on the qualitative and quantitative methodology that combined case study, literature review, structural equation modeling and multilevel analysis. Data were collected through participant interviews, observations, related organizational documentation, and questionnaire survey. The case study and document analysis illustrate the relationship among corporate social responsibility, leadership and employee's behavior, and propose the major research question with ground theory. And then, we develop the measurement instruments to measure the employee perceive corporate social responsibility in Chinese context. The five factors which represent the different stakeholder were found in factor analysis and reliability and validity analysis. Third, we interpret the research questions in social exchange theory, social identification theory and social learning theory, the hypothesis were examined in multi-level analysis using multilevel statistic tools.Findings demonstrated that different kind of social responsibility has different effect on the employee's attitude and behavior. The ethical leadership presented insignificant impact on the employee's behavior after the study controlled the influence of corporate social responsibility. The pervasiveness of corporate social responsibility as a fundamental human resource management and development practice in organizations supports the notion that the corporate benefit from an understanding of corporate social responsibility as a contextual factor in developing, implementing, and changing the traditional management processes.
