Analysis On Forest Farmer Cooperatives After Collective Forest Tenure Reform In China

Since collective forest tenure reform in China, the production enthusiasm of forest farmers increased greatly, which played a positive role in promoting development of forestry economic. But woodland dispersion that caused by collective forest tenure reform brought about significant decline of forestry business scale effect. The development of forest farmer cooperatives adapted to the requirements of the forestry scale operation after collective forest tenure reform in China, providing an important way for achieving the combination of. large scale operation and production enthusiasm of forest farmers. The number of present studies of forest farmer cooperatives is small, and most of the studies are qualitative, so there is in lack of theoretical guidance for development of forest farmer cooperatives.The paper studied forest farmer cooperatives using a combination of normative and empirical research methods, and cooperative game and non-cooperative game model, and complex adaptive systems models and econometric models, and analyze formative causation, operating mechanism and the development process of forest farmer cooperatives mainly from microscopic point and macro point of view. It analyzed the difficulties faced by forest farmers in the production and management and the advantages of forest farmer cooperatives, and the relationship among the mode of operation, the size and the type of forest farmer cooperatives. Then it analyzed the type and cooperation mechanism of forest farmer cooperatives from the perspective of non-cooperative game, and analyzed the profit motive of forest farmers joining cooperatives and NASH equilibrium conditions through the establishment of the alliance game model, and explained the stability conditions of forest farmer cooperatives, and on the basis, it further analyzed the optimal size of forest farmer cooperatives and the impact of different distribution systems to the optimal size and the forest farmers" willingness to cooperate, and it simulated Union Game Model through using the simulation method, and analyzed the situations of forest fanner cooperatives under different circumstances. Finally, it did the empirical analyses of 94 demonstration forest farmer cooperatives in Jiangxi Province, proved the existing conclusions through regression model of the size, and the income regression model and the industrial structure regression model, and it simulated different policy to promote the development of forest farmer cooperatives taking advantage of the forest farmer cooperation CAS model, and analyzed the effect of the policy.The study of forest farmer cooperatives was based on a systems perspective and the perspective of game theory, and viewed cooperatives and the members as an interaction whole in the system, and analyzed the relationship within the organization and outside the organization, and on the basis built the new theory of forest farmer cooperatives including operation mechanism, organizational structure and organizational efficiency, and did the quantitative analyses of forest farmer cooperatives.
