Greek culture and Hebrew culture are the two main sources of western culture. This makes study of Hebrew culture necessary. Hebrew culture is also called Jewish culture which started from the very ancient time but known little even by today. Study of Jewish culture should begin from the study of the characters of Jewish culture.Jewish culture is not only national and religious culture, but cosmopolitan and unique culture as well. First of all, Jewish culture is a kind of national culture. The reasons that made it national include two points, experience of Jewish people in 2000 years and certain situations around them. Jewish culture is religious culture, Judaism is the core part of this culture always. As we know, the Jewish people entered into the history of human being with their religion--- Judaism. Judaism in Jewish culture functions as fences to against assimilation by other cultures. Also, Judaism was spread into the whole world through Christianity and Islamism as Mother Religion of these two new religions. The fact of Jewish culture as religious culture doesn't cover its identity as a cosmopolitan culture. Seeing from the point of historical development, the Jewish people are the only group that had the highest frequency of intercourse with other people of different cultures. Intercourse not only influenced Jewish culture but enriched its connotation as well. Finally, because Jewish culture is developed without the base of any civilization---land, it's called"the Moved Civilization"too, this made Jewish culture a very unique culture.
