The motif of this essay is about the research on the issue of increasing farmers'income in the new period of transformation.The issue of farmers'income has been long-term, important and complicated. Since the modern times, there have been various aspects concerning the issue of farmers'income. The aim and significance of the research lie in that it is one of the most important tasks to build a well-off society in an all-round way and is essential to build the new type of socialist village. We must understand the current statues and changes that are happening in rural families, deepening the understanding of the farmers'true income, making clear the basic role that cash income plays in this transformation. To keep an eye on the new changes happened in rural societies since 1990s is very significant to hold the historic position where the issue of the income increase lays. After confirming the basic goal of the farmers'income increase, what we really need to do is to get a common judgment according to some reliable information. This essay contains six chapters. In the first chapter, the author introduces the experiences and theories of the increase in farmers'income in the transformation period. First, it should be pointed out that transformation is the underlying meaning under modernization which will cause social transformation inevitably. Issues concerning farmers'income, rural development and agriculture have close relevance with China's social transformation, the"Two Inclinations"is the common principle during this stage. Next, this chapter sets to analyze the farmers in this stage with the examples of"Sheep Devour Men"in English Enclosure Movement and the"Farmers'Termination"in France, we are going to find an answer to the question:"Who are the'farmers'now?"Finally, the farmers'income in the transformational period will be discussed. It is first considered as an economic problem, the author introduces the explanation of income distribution and economic growth of classical political economy, the analysis of Marxist private ownership and polarization, and the theory of consumption function to form the analytic framework of this essay.In Chapter 2, the author puts forward the issue of the farmers'income increase. At first, it shows that China is just in the new stage of transformational period and is a developing country in transformation. There are connections and distinctions between the transformational period and the primary stage of socialism, between the new period of transformation and the new stage of socialist modernization. Second, people must watch the development of farmers from the angle of transformation, analyze the interests groups of farmers, and then present the answer to the question:"Who are the'farmers'now?"Then, the author generalizes the basic characteristics of the changes to Chinese farmers, understand the present income issues correctly. At last, it'll be pointed out that the essential change concerning the nature of income, the difficulty to increase their income is a striking issue after agricultural and rural development has passed on to the new phase. The issue of farmers'income is becoming more and more relevant to the issue of market. To increase the farmers'income has been one of the great tasks in building the well-off society in an all-round way.
