The process of economic globalization is a process of merging of economies of various countries and regions worldwide and a process of flow and deployment of essential factors of production. This process is irreversible China is now entering a post WTO transition period and must fulfill its commitment to WTO member countries step by step, which push China's economy, in particular the agriculture, onto the arena of world market with unprecedented pressure and challenge. Against background, the study on how to improve international competitiveness of agriculture becomes especially urgent and necessary. In view of China's actual conditions, the research on how to rationally guide the development of agricultural economy and how to improve agricultural competitiveness by government behavior is pragmatic and urgent.This thesis contains eight chapters.Chapter One is an introduction that explains the purpose, significance, composition method and logic structure of this thesis.Chapter Two Concept Definition for International Competitiveness of China's Economy and Factors Analysis. As the logic outset of this thesis, this chapter provides the concept, level and definition of agricultural competitiveness, analyzes the external factors and essential factors and their mechanism of functions and discusses the existing status, features and contradiction related to agriculture in China.Chapter Three Comparative Advantage and Competition Advantage Theory on Agricultural Competitiveness. This chapter discusses the content, logic and viewpoints on comparative advantage theory and competition advantage theory (Porter's Diamond Model) and addresses the development relations and similarities and differences of the pair. The chapter also explores the favorable and unfavorable elements in China's agricultural competitiveness and explains the irrational phenomenon related to comparative advantage and competition advantage in China's agricultural competitiveness and the reason behind it.
