The paper aims at analyze the relationship between the interregional specialization and the market integration in China. It also attempts to address these questions relevant to: How has the interregional specialization in China evolved? What effects the interregional specialization and the market scale expansion have bought to our economic growth? What is the institutional foundation influenced the process of Market integration? Whether local government competition behaviors have distorted the structure of industrial specialization? And so on.Chapter 1 is introduction of this paper .It gives the research background, the research theme and methods, brief of this paper, and its contributions and shortages.Chapter 2 gives a generally theoretical profile. Proceeding from Smith's theorem, it expounds the relationship between industrial specialization and market expansion, the extent of market is a decisive factor of specialization level, and transaction efficiency is a decisive factor of extent of market. It makes a distinction between specialization based on comparative advantages and specialization based on economies of scale, explains that market integration can promote the efficiency of resource allocation. Finally, it introduces the specialization theory of new classical economics, address the most important function of market is to determine specialization network, and the institutional arrangement which reduced transaction cost can promote the transaction efficiency.Chapter 3 provides a frame of our research. It interprets some measurement index of interregional specialization. It introduces border effects model and interregional input-output model , explains the institutional factors which determine the level of specialization.Chapter 4 empirically analyzes the interregional specialization and industrial relations in China.
