With market-oriented economic reform and economic globalization, the issues about recognition of market economy status, ratification of core international labor standards and certification of corporate social responsibility in anti-dumping disputes and frictions in China's foreign trade are driving domestic enterprises to adopt market-oriented salary determination mechanisms. Based on the basic models of salary determination mechanism and combined with theoretical analysis of the special features of labor market, this dissertation, in the perspective of economic globalization, studies how to realize the reform of market-oriented salary determination mechanism in Chinese enterprises within Chinese market-oriented economic system.The gap between ideal salary determination mechanism and actual salary determination mechanisms practically exists. The ideal salary determination mechanism is composedof two levels of negotiation mechanism: individual wage negotiation and collective negotiation. As to the real salary determination mechanism, there is difference between western market economic countries and China. A survey of the salary determination mechanisms of main market economies shows that although the salary determination mechanisms of different countries are not identical, most countries have a salary negotiation mechanism under the macro-regulation of government. This dissertation examines the development of the salary determination mechanism in China and finds that this development is a market-oriented development process, while, at present stage, the retaining of many non-market factors, lack of collective bargaining and the dual mechanism of salary determination hinder the development of market-oriented salary mechanism in China and lead to unfair distribution structure of factors, especially the distribution proportion between labor-generated income and capital-generated income. However the evolving of salary determination mechanism shows some common features in western market economies and China. In western market economies, the economic globalization weakens the bargaining power of trade unions. A democratic worker-participation mechanism centering on equality and negotiation, as a substitute, plays a role in the determination of salary as the position of collective bargaining is weakened and the individual bargaining plays a more active role.
