As an intermediate organization, purchasing consortia, rapidly developed in recent decades, can not only decrease the procurement cost and buying cost, and realize resource sharing, core capacity complementation and knowledge transfer, but also eventually increase enterprise advantage in competition. However, the theoretical research is relatively retarded and still in the initial starting phase, requiring our further and deep investigation. Considered purchasing consortia as research objective, this dissertation regards the forming and maintenance of purchasing consortia as the main track, and centers on its related problems. By combing the current practice of purchasing consortia and borrowing ideas from the existing research findings, we integrates various analysis methods, such as macro and micro analysis, qualitative and quantitative analysis, lateral and longitudinal comparison, etc., and adopts three methodologies, comparison analysis, literature analysis and mathematical statistics models to investigate. To achieve the goals above, the following tasks are performed:(1) The basic concept of purchasing consortia. The contents include the definition, property, types, organizing pattern and structure, and comparison with other related organizations. By doing these research, the doubts occurring during the practice can be solved clearly.(2) Forming mechanism analysis of purchasing consortia. This chapter analyzes the forming agent and obstacle factors, and explains the forming mechanism with management science and economics theories. The final goal is to deal with the existing questions: Why is the purchasing consortia available and developed? What kinds of factors block its formation?(3) Forming decision analysis of purchasing consortia. Although the formation of purchasing consortia depends on various factors from different aspects, the economic factor is dominant. Modeling from two prospective correspondingly, this chapter compares related gross profits and total costs before and after the formation of purchasing consortia so as to ultimately make decision on its formation.(4) Purchasing-consortia-based system optimization. Firstly the system optimization models are built up among supplier and purchaser, purchaser and purchaser, four different cooperation conditions. Then the optimization results are compared under different conditions by comparison analysis method in order to establish the suitable lateral and longitudinal supply chain relationships. Finally,...
