Since the reform and opening policy was executed, economy has been keeping rapid growth more than twenty years in Shandong. But there is a strict fact we have to face, the economic growth pattern in Shandong was typically extensive characterized as more input and consumption, yet lower efficiency. At present, economy in Shandong is stepping into the phrase of heavy industry acceleration development, and the unbalance of important energy resources and raw materials becomes more and more obvious. Therefore, changing the extensive growth pattern into the intensive growth pattern is becoming the most urgent realistic problem, which deals with the sustainable development. In consideration of the reasons above, this dissertation will focus on the economic growth in Shandong, research into its growth pattern and the relevant factors, in order to understand the general characteristics and study the transformation way of realizing the intensive economic growth pattern, which can serve for the economic development in Shandong. This dissertation mainly takes the Neo-classic economic growth model as the beginning, and makes the research using the statistic, mathematical and econometric analysis methods, whose core is to explain the role of total factors productivity (TFP) and discuss the specific factors of TFP.This dissertation mainly includes four parts, as follows:Part one: The basic theory of economic growth patternChapter one studies the theory of economic growth pattern, which is the theory base and the logic grounds of the whole dissertation. Through researching the connotation, classification, transformation boundary of the economic growth pattern, and the primary factors which influence TFP, this chapter established the method of empirical analysis on economic growth pattern by analyzing the growth factors, and the classification criterion on economic growth pattern by taking TFP as the core, and the quantity critical point of realizing the intensive economic growth pattern, and the TFP decision model which is constructed by factors of demand fluctuation, capital deepening, human capital, structure change and system transition.Part two: Empirical analysis of economic growth patternThis part comprises three chapters, including chapter two, chapter three and chapter four.Chapter two studies the general characteristics of the economic growth pattern in Shandong. Generally speaking, the power of economic growth in Shandong presented the characteristic of "two-round driving" by the increase of capital investment and the enhancing of TFP, i.e. a lower extensive growth pattern. In the tendency, the economy in Shandong took on the extensive growth and intensive growth in turn. As for the factors influencing TFP as concerned, the demand fluctuation and the structure change played the vital roles, which reflected the general rule in the process of industrialization.Chapter three analyzes the industrial characteristics of the economic growth pattern in Shandong and the correlated structure factors. This chapter points out the unbalanced industrial development by analyzing the growth pattern of the three industries, the light...
