Analysis Of Factors Affecting Ningbo Economic Growth Mode During Transition

CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee of the Fifth (expansion) Meeting determines the overall requirements and major goals for the acceleration of transformation of EGM in the near future so"CPC Central Committee on the development of national economic and social development of the 10th Five-Year Plan Proposal"suggests that economic growth mode (EGM) should be transformed, and holds this as the most prominent task of"the Eleventh Five-Year"phase. as to achieve the a major breakthrough in the EGM transformation and economic restructuring of the city in 2012, as well as impelling the city from a big economy to a strong economy with great force and making it a forerunner city in terms of science and technology.In view of this, the present thesis focuses the EGM of Ningbo and analyzes the factors affecting the EGM in Ningbo, and further explores the ideas and strategies of transforming the EGM. Regarding the research methodology, this thesis takes the neo-classical economic growth theory as the basis, and Solow's economic growth equation with technological progress as the starting point, and demonstrates and analyzes the factors leading Ningbo economic growth through statistical analysis and econometric model. The core is to measure and calculate the contribution of total factor productivity (TFP) to economic growth and to explore the specific factors impacting on TFP.Chapter one mainly introduces the background, significance, base, research way and methods of the thesis as well as its innovation and deficiencies.Chapter two employs the specific indicators and investigates the status of Ningbo economic growth in terms of its totals economic volume.By examining the C-D production function, we adopt quantitative analysis and applies the Solow economic growth equation which includes technological advances to analyze the contribution of the various elements in the process of Ningbo economic growth in chpter three. Especially we calculate the contribution of total factor productivity to economic growth and assess the total productivity model as well as determine the type of the mode of economic growth through the quantitative analysis of the factors of total factor productivity .And in chpter three, we makes introduction about the status quo of Ningbo economic growth mode, employing the economic data.. Chapter four makes a comparison study of the type of the mode of economic growth of six counties and cities of Ningbo by means of panel data model. Chapter five discusses the consistency between the study results and specific economic work which Ningbo implements currently. Relevant policies are supplemented and some suggestions are made from the perspective of system, industrial structure and the need in order to accelerate the transformation of the Ningbo economic growth mode.
