Deng Xiaoping's Theories About The Coordination Of Science And Technology And Economic As Well As Its Practical Significance

Deng Xiaoping's Thought on Coordination of Scientific and Technological Economy is an important component of Deng Xiaoping Theory. But current academic research on relevant issues ,being confined in the study of Deng Xiaoping's Thought of Science and Technology or Deng Xiaoping's economic Thought,are rarely studied from the perspective of economic and scientific coordination, .Based on this reality, the combination of theory and practice is stressed in this thesis. In the light of the basic tenets of Marxism,Selecting appropriate examples and data in economic life, to validate the view's reasonability, I open up a new area of research of Deng Xiaoping Theory and contribute to the in-depth study of Deng Xiaoping's Theory.Specifically, the framework of the thesis is divided into five chapters : Chapter I is about the backgroud knowledge of the Deng Xiaoping's Thought on Coordination of Scientific and Technological Economy,including external and internal factors,theoretical bases and subjective conditions and so forth. Chapter II is about the historical phases of Deng Xiaoping's Thought on Coordination of Scientific and Technological Economy in its development,which consists of preliminary exploration,brewing, formation and growth, and perfection and systematization, in addition, a comprehensive analysis is given on the focus problems Deng Xiaoping was concerned with. Chapter III is about the analysis of the main contents of Deng Xiaoping's Thought on Coordination of Scientific and Technological Economy.It is pointed out that a basic goal of the Thought is to figure out a method for solving the problem of disconnection between science and technology and economy,science and technology as the primary productive force is the strategic concept of Xiaoping's Thought on Coordination of Scientific and Technological Economy, and revitalizing the country through science and education is a realistic method to achieve it. Chapter IV gives an analysis about the current constraints in coordination between China's science and technology and economy.Generally speaking, the lower contribution rate to the economic growth from technological advances, the somewhat high dependence on foreign countries in economic development and concept constraints are the factor to be considered in the making of policy of forecasting economic coordination. And the analysis of several points deserves speacial attention----- techno-economic consequences of"market for technology" line, China's limitations as a "world factory", the drawbacks of foreign investment and trade-dependent development mode,the relationship between the government and the market, short-sighted weighing on the costs and benefits,demostic productivity and technological innovation.Chapter V, specific economic policy design is put forward based on China's realizing the coordination of science and technology and economy, including specific proposals such as the relationship between the strategy of catching up with the developed and keeping a comparative advantage,changing economic growth mode and foreign-oriented trade policy,creating an atmosphere for implementating the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education,achieving a technologically strategic change in the course of economically theoretic change in the light of promoting social responsibility of the citizens, improving national technical innovation system, and confirming the leading status of enterprises technological innovation.The Deng Xiaoping's Theory answered the question of what is socialism and how to build socialism in underdeveloped countries.Since the 1990s, the study on Deng Xiaoping's Thought on Coordination of Scientific and Technological Economy in the acdemic field had being carried out,which are not in-depth and significant in policy.China's had confronted increasingly constraints such as resources scarcity, worsening environment in its economic growth,since the two propositions"rejuvenating the country through science and education" and "changing the economic growth mode" in 1995, however, which are not so much concerned in Deng Xiaoping's Theory and Research.The history of the world economy and the experience and lessons from China's socialist modernization have illustrated to us that we could promote China's economic growth in its quality only by strengthening our studies on scientific and technological and economic coordination in the Deng Xiaoping's Theory and then applying it into the great practice of socialist construction.The paper, focusing on the combination of theory and practice abandoning some traditional methods in the study of the Deng Xiaoping's Theory, plays a major and constructive role in complying with scientific concept of development and following a new industrial road so as to promote China's economic development mode change, in implementing the national mid-and-long term design and the 11th five-year plan of the State so that to achieve a coordination between science and technology and economy,in safeguarding national security and maintain China's ecnomic and technological sustainability in the increasingly fierce world competition, further to promote the smooth realization of the third-step strategic goal of modernization, and what is more, in deepening our understanding the Deng Xiaoping's Theory, opening up a new area of research of the Deng Xiaoping Theory, and enhancing the consciousness of initiativity and positivity in strategic design.
