Subjective Consciousness And The Socialist Market Economy

The human constitutes both essence and basis of all human activities and relationships. The human-the subject of social history acts as the organizer, participator and developer of the social activities, who causes the occurrence of the social activities, but also is their eventual objective. As the most critical part of the body physical composition, the brain determines such a feature that the human vital activity is dominated by the mind. Marx said, the whole character of a species, its species-character, resides in the nature of its life activity, and free conscious activity constitutes the species-character of man. The human being is the one and only phenomenon of substance in the realm of nature that its vital process can be dominated through its conscious activity. All the historical activities of human being are merely for continuous realization of human generic characteristics, i.e., freedom and self-consciousness. In this sense, after the human being took over the subject position in the world, the human civilization history could be regarded as a history of human subjectivity and initiative development and realization, as well as a process of human subject consciousness arousing and maturing.The subject consciousness is what the human intentionally cognizes the nature, position and value of itself as the subject of the target activities. It gives birth to the ideas and thoughts for the practice where the human initiatively cognizes and reforms both the objective world and itself. It is the human awareness of the relationship between the object and the human itself, and also represents that the human takes an initiative stand in its correlation with the object.In the stream of a specific historical development, the subject consciousness evolution follows a course from minority to entirety and from one-sidedness to all-sidedness due to the limitation of social productivity growth level. With more means and ways of utilizing natural resources, the human being achieves more freedoms in its vital activity and higher optimization of its vital process, and thus more sufficient subject consciousness. The market economy plays an unparalleled role in this regard. To a certain extent, it is a process of the subject consciousness transformation from scattered individuals or minority class to universal individuals or general public. The subject consciousness needs to be supported and preserved by the social relationship. Therefore, the responsibility of a society is to utilize, adjust and reform the social relationship through a reasonable social management system, so as to improve the mode of social cooperation, expand the scale of social cooperation and promote the effect of social cooperation. In this way, the human being can enjoy more and more freedoms while developing its relationship with the realm of nature. And this provides a favourable external environment that allows the individual subject consciousness to expand transversally and upgrade longitudinally for the prospect of free and all-around development of every individual. However, so far the real society hasn't possessed sufficient conditions for the subject consciousness realization of every individual. In view of this, the purpose of the reform in the human history, particularly the change of the human society development pattern is to just to better solve the problems that hinder the subject consciousness realization. This paper is based on the analysis of subject consciousness to demonstrate the socialism choice of market economy and the subsequent socialistic development pattern.China has chosen the market system in its reform. This reveals that such an economic system fits for the objective need of human being in a particular historical stage. It drives significantly the arousing and development of human subject consciousness, as well as the development of human capability. The human capability means the essential power that the human possesses as the subject to initiatively cognize and reform the object. As Marx had ever said, a fully developed person is an individual who can well adapt to extremely different demands for labor and can freely develop all his inborn or acquired talents in the alternate or substituted functions. However, the inherent logic of market economy is inevitable to bring up a series of subjectivity troubles, such as human alienation, polarization and environmental problems. The subjectivity dilemma is resulted in nature from the immature and incomplete subject consciousness. With further practice and development, the Chinese socialistic market economy is gradually revealing its advantage over the capitalistic development pattern, which provides a good opportunity to show the socialism superiority. Such a surpassing becomes more possible under the favorable conditions available due to the rapid globalization and informatization, as well as the Chinese power accumulation in more than 20 years of reform. The construction of the socialistic harmonious society is culturing the members of the society to be free, independent and self-conscious individuals, and is also upgrading the individual subjectivity and incorporating it into the harmonious development of the human with the nature, the society and the human itself. It not only meets the need of transferring the core of political power application after the socialistic market economy has created basic subject conditions, but also starts the pursuit of the socialistic market economy for the socialistic target values, as well as will innovate the human socialistic practice development pattern.
