Agri-tourism study is an important component of tourism study in China. Southwestern minority areas possess abundant agri-tourism resources and good developing opportunities, but the gap between urban and rural is broad, and搕hree agricultural problems? (agriculture, the rural area and the rural people) have become the bottleneck of constructing a well-off society. Therefore, the agri-tourism study of southwestern minority areas will not be limited to enrich and deepen the theories and methods of agri-tourism development only, but will also be favorable to ensuring the sustainable utility of agri-tourism resources in southwestern minority areas and even the whole western area. It will have important theoretical and practical significance for solving搕hree agricultural problems? and promoting the construction of a new socialist rural area. The purpose of this paper lies in through developing agri-tourism in southwestern minority areas to improve the living standard of local people, promoting the development of rural area, realizing the adjustment of agricultural structures, and finally succeed the aim of regional sustainable development. The core purpose of sustainable tourism and emphasizing tourism development in the frame should搃mprove the living standard of local people, supply high-quality tourism perception for tourists? and seek for balances and coordinations among stakeholders. As the most important stakeholders, the local residents and tourists play the core role in assessing pros and cons of agri-tourism development, the advantage and disadvantage of different agri-tourism developing patterns and their application. Therefore, the perception and satisfaction of residents and tourists, which have become the critical basis in determining the sustainability of an agri-tourism destination and the selection of developing pattern, and all kinds of perceptive factors that affect the forming of residents?and tourists? satisfaction are sure to be the focus of studies. The paper bases its research on three national agri-tourism demonstrating sites with different characters. Through broad and detailed field investigations, the paper carried out a synthetic study on the agri-tourism developing pattern from the angle of residents and tourists perception by applying structural equation model, nonlinear model and Genetic Algorithm, variance analysis, correlation analysis, multi-element regression, and other statistical analyzing methods. The paper totally includes 7 chapters, and divides into 3 sections:Section 1 includes chapter 1 and chpater 2 , it presents a theoretical framework and a systematic review of agri-tourism and tourism perception. It mainly describes background and significance of the agri-tourism research in southwestern minority areas, relevant literature reviews of agri-tourism and tourism perception researches domestic and abroad.Section 2 covers from chapter 3 to chapter 6, the focus of this section are regional background analysis and developing pattern of agri-tourism destination under the viewpoint of tourism perception. Chapter 3 describes the basic concepts, research methods, data resources, basic situation of regional background and investigation sites. Chapter 4 constructs residents and tourists? two-dimensional applicable structural equation model to study the relationship among perception, attitude, and behavior on the basis of broad material collection and field investigations. The result reveals that, in the whole, the tourism perception of local residents in southwestern minority areas is mainly positive, while negative perception is comparatively weak, and the influences of residential satisfaction on their participation behavior vary from sites to sites. Tourist perception pattern, from empirical perspective, solely and quantitatively verified in the first time the impacts of tourism products on tourists? satisfaction and loyalty, and quantitatively verified that the key factors of tourists attraction in the agri-tourism destination of southwestern minority areas can be ascribed to natural scenery, village scene and minority folk-custom. In chapter 5, the paper, combined with regional characteristics and current agri-tourism development situation, emphasizes the important role of resident and tourist perception in maintaining and promoting sustainable development capability, constructs agri-tourism destination sustainable development capability appraising system for southwestern minority areas, and then carries out practical appraisal for the investigation sites with mathematical methods. The results are reasonable. On the basis of above research conclusions, chapter 6 discusses development pattern in general, spatial development pattern, resource and product development pattern, operation and management pattern, summarizes the development patterns of two above-average-level cases. The relative suggestions are also put forward.Section 3 only includes chapter 7, it concerns about main conclusions, innovations and further research prospect in the future. The authors hold that the combination of agriculture and tourism, rural people participation development pattern under governmental domination or market and government combined domination is currently a suitable choice for the development of agri-tourism in southwestern minority areas. The key points of enhancing the sustainable development capability of southwestern minority areas as agri-tourism destinations lie in paying attention to exploiting characteristic agricultural sight, making better use of characteristics of village and local areas, and environment, folk-custom, life of village, reinforcing protection of nature resources and minority culture, improving local peoples? living standard and their tourism participation, providing high-quality tour experience and strengthening government regulation. The study conclusion would provide scientific decision-making basis for promoting characteristic agriculture development, speeding up rural industry structure adjustment, boosting the combination of agriculture and tourism and sustainable development of agri-tourism.
