The Impact Of Technology Transfer From FDI On Shanghai Information Industry

Information is nowadays generally accepted that inward foreign direct investment (FDI) by multinational enterprises (MNEs) is a major channel for the access to advanced technologies by developing countries. The great amount of FDI is a potent instrument of development in China. The core object that China tries its best to attract foreign capital is to get more advanced technology. International technology diffusion is the subject of many empirical studies. Therefore, in order to improve the technology capability of domestic enterprises, we need focus on technical industry, improve the market-oriented direct investment and use technology transfer and technology diffusion. But the FDI technology transfer is a complicated process, and is not automatic; information is affected by much factor. Base on framework structure and case analysis, this paper focus on Shanghai information industry, do the research for FDI technology transfer and get the follow result: The most important reason for technology transfer is holding company mode, industry characteristic, R&D domestic capital, human capital.Based on theory of technology transfer, international economics and industry economics as well as the empirical framework, this paper gets the following results: (1) Evaluate the effect of technology transfer from FDI at Shanghai information industry ;(2) Give the reason for affecting technology transfer from FDI at Shanghai information industry; (3) Proposal the different policy which is highlight technology transfer from FDI at Shanghai information industry. Base on the analysis of Shanghai information industry, this paper give the detail research result.Based on the research, the author puts forward some policy suggestion of improving technology transfer from FDI at Shanghai information industry: (1) attract foreign capital and domestic capital, improve Shanghai information industry competition; (2) insist on self-innovation, increase foreign resource in use and improve the capability of R&D; (3) Guide foreign capital, promote industry structure adjusting to match the Shanghai information industry trend;(4) attract talents, set up a more effective technology transfer mechanism;(5) assemble enterprises, structuring of product line, improve domestic enterprises attraction.
