Under the background of great development of producer service firms,and the quick derivation of specialization of them,how to improve produce service firm's sustained competitive advantage is an interesting question.Based on the theory analysis,we adopt the research methods of field discussion,questionnaire,and case study,and explore how producer service firms can construct the sustained competitive advantage effectively.Our research mainly concerns the three topics:â‘ the compose of sustained competitive advantage of producer service firms;â‘¡,the way of building producer service firm's sustained competitive advantage;â‘¢the mechnism of advancing the producer service firm's sustained competitive advantage.In the research topic one:based on the characteristics of producer service firm,we indentify the main construct of competitive advantage of producer service firm.From the mode of centralization of producer service firms,we think the competitive advantage of producer service firm shoud include the content of location advantage, and relative to the manufacture firm,usually with small scale and simple develop path, attaching themselves to the main client and envierenment,and the immateriality of their service product,so we think the competitive advantage of producer service firm, should comprise some content of "soft power" of firms too,and embody some content of social capital advantage.According to the definition and characteristics of producer service firm,we conclude that the constructiong of competitive advantage of producer service firm is: resource advantage,specialization advantage,cost advantage,location advantage, social capital advantage,and service innovation advantage.In the empirical test of centralization of firms and its competitive advantage,after controlling the firm's size and uncertainty of environment,we find that degree of centralization has an significant impact on the producer service firm's short term competitive advantage,but the sustained competitive advantage of producer service firm.It draws a conclusion that there is a diffrence of short-term competitive advantage and the sustained competitive advantage infuenced by the locational of the producer service firm.It shows that,centralization just help producer service firms get temporary ancestor advantage.To make the competitive advantage to be longer,it needs some lasting mechnism to help producer service firm to keeping competitive advantage.According to the conclusions of the hree case study,we try to bring forward the locational learning mechanism to construct the sustained competitive advantage of producer service firm.In the research topic two:following the question of "how to construct the competitive advantage of producer service firm?" and base on the analysis of intraorgnizational learning,location embedeness,we propose the theory of location learning to explain the answer of question offered before.We do a empirical test of impact of locational learning on the sustained competitive advantage of producer service firm.In the empirical test of locational learning of producer service firm and its competitive advantage after controlling the uncertainty of environment and firm's size, we find that locational learning of producer service firm have an significant impact to its competitive advantage.This can be explain that,for locational learning consist of team orientation,system orientation,learning orientation,memery orientation, location search,location embede,communication integration and routine evolution. During the process of firm's interaction with others,with the eight subprocesses of locational learning,firm can make a running circulation of searching,absorbing,and utilizing knowledge and information,so make a lasting motibity mechanism for the sustained competitive advantage of producer service firm subsequently.When controlling the impact of firm's size and environmental uncertainty to the competitive advantage of producer service firm,locational learning have an significant impact to competitive advantage of producer service firm.This can be explained that,with high degree of locational learning would get important market information directly and newly,and induce the internal innovation process by the internal learning process.Locational learning can also make a platform help to get new knowledge,and make a ego renewal pocess for producer service firm to construct the sustained competitive advantage.In the research topic three:based on the theory of firm's resource and competence,we conclude some important pathes improving the competitive advantage of producer service firm.They are relation resources,structure status, culture identification,network competence,organizational flexibility and service innovation.Form the results of empirical test,access to resources,integration of communication structure,openness of corporate culture,network competence and organizational flexibility,and service innovation all have an significant impact on the competitive advantage of producer service firm.The sizes of path coefficient all are at the same level.So,enhancing competitive advantage of producer service firm need considering the six core pathes together.The six pathes represent resources base,management method,organizational structure,firm's culture,learning orientation,and innovation process.This finding advances us understand how the locational learning to improve the competitive advantage of producer service firms,and enrich the explanations about theory of approaches or means enhancing competitive advantage.
