Research On The Sustainable Development Of Rural Tourism In China

In 2006,China National Tourism Administration entitled the year the theme of"Rural Travel in China."Under the circumstances, the in-depth research on the sustainable development of rural tourism (SDRT) is of great importance. To achieve the sustainable development of the rural areas rich in resources is of great theoretical and practical significance, with the purpose to promote the region's scientific utilization of resources and improve the system structure of tourism.On the basis of previous research, the dissertation attempts to put forth the evaluation system and model of SDRT, with the application of Theory of System Science, Theory of Tourism Product Life-cycle, Theory of Sustainable Development and Theory of Building a New Socialist Countryside. Through the systematic and quantitative analysis on SDRT, the dissertation constructs the operating system of SDRT and discusses the operating environment, operating objectives, operating security and regulation mechanism facing the SDRT. With the goal of building new rural areas, the dissertation puts forth the evaluation indicator system and model of rural tourism, which has been applied to assess a typical rural scenic spot. Based on the current development of rural tourism in Hebei Province, a SWOT analysis has been made to construct sustainable development strategy in Hebei Province.In the innovations of the dissertation, a detailed analysis on the operating system of SDRT is conducted, and the operating system structure of rural tourism is constructed. Along with the other four operating environments of SDRT, the technological one is firstly introduced. Meanwhile, the operational target of SDRT system, as well as the protection mechanism is proposed; the linkages and feedback analyses have been discussed to establish the dynamic regulation mechanism.The dissertation establishes evaluation index system and comprehensive evaluation model for the SDRT. Centering on the economic, environmental, social, cultural, political and legal as well as technological dimension, a set of measurable and applicable evaluation indicator system and model are constructed. The SDRT theories are greatly enriched by the use of stakeholder theory in analyzing the operating targets of SDRT and the application of the theory of building a new socialist countryside and a harmonious society, which is in turn embodied in the operating index system. The dissertation seeks to provide an evaluation instrument for developing, planning, and managing the rural tourism projects to make the survey data worthy of decision-making reference value.
