A Study On The Issues Of Economic Globalization In Marxism Perspective

The origin of economic globalization can be traced back as early as to the first Industrial Revolution in Europe. After a tortuous course of development, economic globalization has become a universal phenomenon in today's world. After the first Opium War, China was forced to participate in the process of economic globalization. In a long historical period, the economic globalization brought the tribulation far greater than the benefits to China. During the different periods of Chinese socialist revolution and construction, the leaders of Chinese Communist Party and People's Republic of China were constantly thinking and seeking after the paths of participating in the process of economic globalization. After limited participation in economic globalization for 30 years since the found of People's Republic of China, China actively takes part in the economic globalization with Reform and Opening up policy. Economic globalization is as if as a double-edged sword which has advantages on developing opportunities and disadvantages on challenge. China's participation in the process of economic globalization will inevitably face the above mentioned two-side problems. Therefore, in an interactive and open system of economic globalization how to adopt active and sound strategies and approaches to make full use of the opportunities and to respond on challenges to carry out the better and faster development of China, is the foundation and main purpose of the study of this dissertation.This dissertation has used the research methods of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, logic consisted with history, comparative study, literature research, trans-disciplinary research. First of all, this dissertation researches the origin of economic globalization form very beginning, tracing the history of its development to discuss the main issues of economic globalization one by one. Then clarify the concepts, bring forward questions, and analyze and answer these questions. Finally, put forward the strategies and the paths on China's participation ineconomic globalization pursuant to China's own practical situation. In addition to the preamble, the dissertation is composed of six chapters. The first chapter is an overview of economic globalization focusing on its origin, concept, evolving history, essence and main characters. The second chapter is a study on national sovereignty and transnational corporations in the process of economic globalization, discusses the economic globalization's impact on both of them. The third chapter is concerned about the three globalization issues in economic globalization: economic development, ecological environment, security and the mutual influence between them and economic globalization. The fourth chapter is about the anti-globalization movement in economic globalization, discussing its characteristics, demands and causes. The fifth chapter focuses on the global governance theories and practices of economic globalization, analyses the prevailing theories of global governance, and discusses the way of global governance based on the practices of integration of EU. The sixth chapter is a study on economic globalization and China, reviewed the tortuous history from forcedly take part in the economic globalization to actively involved in by self-determination of China, puts forward the stratagem and paths of China's all-around and active participation in economic globalization.This dissertation's research results are the following:The first opinion is to put forward the external conditions and internal foundations of economic globalization. Through repeated study on the original classics, this dissertation evolving a point of view is that the Geographical Discovery is a sufficient condition of economic globalization as well as the Industrial Revolution a necessary condition and two of them created the economic globalization. The Geographical Discovery was pregnant with the possibility of economic globalization which is the external condition of economic globalization's origin. The Industrial Revolution became the possibility into reality which is the internal foundation. The second opinion is to put forward that the essence of economic globalization is the self-adjustment of relations of production in order to meet the objective needs of development of productive forces in worldwide scope, breaking the prevailing viewpoint of western scholars who believe that the essence of economic globalization is the globalization of capitalism. The third opinion is that putting forward the point of view that the anti-globalization movement existing in the whole process of economic globalization based on the principle on universality of contradictions of Marxist philosophy, breaking the traditional viewpoint that the anti-globalization movement came forth in the late 20th century. The fourth opinion is to put forward that there are two modes on taking part in the process of economic globalization which are the forced participation and active participation, consummating the mode of economic globalization's development and China's participation in economic globalization. The fifth opinion is to explore the paths of China in participate the economic globalization. This dissertation deems that China should change the development approach to realize scientific development firstly, then benefit themselves and other people by peaceful development, finally come true a harmonious world through building a harmonious society. In addition, this dissertation has also made new summary on the characters of economic globalization from a new perspective, and so on.
