Forest chemical product is an import NWFP, with a fast increase of international demand and trade volume in recent years. China has been a major country in producing and trading forest chemical product. With the pace of global economic integration being fast, it's necessary to study the international competitiveness of China's forest chemical product. The model in evaluating international competitiveness of China's main forest chemical products is established. The export direction and intra industrial trade of forest chemical products are analyzed by using indices. The influential factors of forest chemical products' export fluctuation are measured by CMS model. The apparent international competitiveness of forest chemical products is evaluated by achievement and quality indices. A three-story model of potential international competitiveness of forest chemical products is established. Contribution rate of manufacturing technology in China's forest chemical products has been measured by Solow's surplus value method. The main influential factors of forest chemical products'international competitiveness are found by Grey relatedness analysis. Segmentation strategies of export products are analyzed through BCG matrix. The provincial competitiveness of forest chemical products is evaluated by PNP, PCA, FMR and FR. The pre-safe system of natural rubber is established in the paper. The empirical research indicates that China has high achievement competitiveness but low quality competitiveness. In the process of international competition, China is confronting with many problems and challenges, such as small-scale forest chemical enterprises, backward production technology, domestic vicious competition, serious reliance on the import of natural rubber and palm oil, high concentration in export markets and origins, and many trade barriers and so on. This paper supplies the strategies of advanced production development, market segmentation, market controlling and reforming commodity futures market, confronting trade barriers and government support of China's forest chemical products.
