With the contradiction between economic development and environmental quality being more and more evident, weather and climate problems characterized by global warming has become one of the focus of global attention, which made the development with low emission, low energy consumption, low pollution, high efficiency for the characteristics of the low carbon economy has become the inevitable choice for the future economic and social development. Animal husbandry industry as an important industry which provides people living must, such as meat, milk and other nutrients, led to environmental pollution and greenhouse gas emissions at the same time. The reduction of animal husbandry greenhouse gas emission is related to the improvement of the ecological environment and animal husbandry sustainable development, which not only accords to Chinese construction of a resource-saving and environment-friendly society specific target, but also conforms to China who wants to change the existing not reasonable mode of its economic growth. Therefore, developing low carbon animal husbandry, and realizing animal husbandry carbon reduction has become an inevitable choice, so master animal husbandry greenhouse gas emission situation and design an effective animal husbandry carbon reduction path has become an urgent problem.The animal husbandry system is carbon source, but also has the characteristics of carbon sequestration, it produces methane, and nitrogen dioxide which are the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions, but the grassland of animal husbandry is a huge carbon storage system. So this paper focused on the perspective of carbon source and carbon sequestration. The comprehensive use of the theory of circular economy, sustainable development theory, low-carbon economic theory, low carbon agriculture theory and the decoupling theory and other related aspects, based on analyzing the development status of China animal husbandry, the calculation on carbon emissions and carbon sequestration was carried on, and the quantitative analysis of carbon emission efficiency of animal husbandry was carried on too, and then the potentiality of animal husbandry carbon sink increasing and the emission reduction was analyzed, based of those, the paths of animal husbandry carbon sink increasing and emission reduction were designed, and the safeguard measures to realize low carbon animal husbandry from the views of carbon sources and carbon sinks were put forward. The specific studies of this paper were as follows:First of all, this paper based on carbon emission reduction of animal husbandry, from aspects of time and space to comb the present situation of the development of animal husbandry in China, and carried on the descriptive analysis mainly on the development of animal husbandry, livestock waste discharge and grassland resource utilization. By grasping of the development trend of animal husbandry carbon emission reduction and carbon sequestration, the foundation for the following measurements of carbon emission and carbon sequestration was laid.Secondly, the greenhouse gas emission efficiency for animal husbandry in China was estimated and found, in 11 eastern provinces (areas), the greenhouse gas emission reduction efficiency value of the animal husbandry was 0.600, the efficiency of the central 8 provinces (areas) was 0.517, efficiency of 12 western provinces (autonomous regions) value was 0.525, namely China animal husbandry greenhouse gas emissions efficiency value ordering for eastern region> west area> the central region, which proved the level of regional economic development was not consistent.Thirdly, the quantitative analysis of the influencing factors of carbon emissions of China’s animal husbandry was carried on, which could be found that economic development was the main factor for the greenhouse gas emission of China animal husbandry, would continue for a long period of time in the future; economic structure was an important cause of China animal husbandry greenhouse gas emissions; efficiency factor was the main contributor of greenhouse gas emission reduction of China animal husbandry; in the long run, the labor factor of greenhouse gas emission reduction of China animal husbandry with would gradually increase.Fourthly, from carbon sequestration point of view, the animal husbandry sink potential and market conditions of carbon trading mechanism and construction were analyzed, from the angle of carbon source, using Grey GM (1,1) get Grey development coefficient of carbon dioxide equivalent of China’s waste discharge calculation model, due to the 2014 data of the end of the breeding stock index of cows and non-dairy cattle was not released, so as to ensure consistency among all the measurement results, all the livestock or poultry average feeding amount of data could only measure to 2012, and the amount of waste discharge of 2013-2022 were predicted, combined with the actual year of the average growth rate of 2001-2012, high, medium and low emission reduction target values were got by the qualitative analyses, and the four main factors affecting high, medium and low development values were solved, and then, using the Grey GM (0, N) model, the development of animal husbandry in China, the development of the western region, the industrial structure of animal husbandry, the energy consumption of animal husbandry, carbon tax and other perspectives on the impact of carbon emissions in China’s animal husbandry were briefly analyzed. Based on the above analyses, carbon emission reduction idea of animal husbandry and different regional carbon reduction specific paths were got, and eventually forming an effective path of animal husbandry carbon emission reduction in China.Fifthly, from the point of view of carbon sink, the animal husbandry carbon sink increasing potential and carbon sink trading market conditions and construction mechanism were analyzed. On the basis of comprehensive analyses, the western region, central and eastern regions of different grassland carbon sink enhancement measures were put forward, respectively. Through analyses of the basic using conditions of carbon sink market to build market trading path for grassland carbon sequestration, and put forward the main development measures for grassland carbon sequestration transaction path.Finally, based on related problems and model studies, the paper put forward the carbon emission reduction safeguard measures of Chinese animal husbandry. Animal husbandry is not only the "carbon source", but also the "carbon sink". Therefore, specific countermeasures and suggestions were put forward from the views of reducing carbon emission and enhancing carbon sink to promote low carbon development of animal husbandry in China.
