Study About Open Spaces In Zhengzhou City With Survey On Occupied Situation And Occupier’s Evaluation

Open spaces in city are open-used and public utilities with containing people publiccommunicated action, while taking special function at daily life and social existance forpeople. Usually, open spaces are divided into different subjects such as urban plan, urbandesign, architecture, landscape and public art. They are quite important at cities indevelopping China.Through tracing and thinking on the process of design and construction, this paper try toresearch the express and fitting of open spaces to people’s public communicated action. Itincludes the reviewing to theory, checking about technics and mechanism in design,rethinking to laws, measuring constrction program, reading backgrounds about items. Theresearch steps are followed from that special survey to public spaces in city, interior analysiscombined with the survey results, getting decisions based upon the facts. Seperated surveycarried with writer and his organized students have going on with different ways in samedirection. Our main method is to follow the typical cases in life-based uses for over one year,whlie taking on survey to user’s occupying, action, evaluation and wishes. We want to get thefacts and conditions of open spaces in Zhengzhou city with public communicated actions anddaily uses for general view to city area in some width and depth. Through trying and working,we analize the reflection and relations between the expression of open space, public user anddesign.From the research to open spaces in cities about theory, history and situation based oncase like Zhengzhou with scale of whole city, this paper want to find out problems withindesign, construction program and management, such as ignorance to occupying and ocuupiers, thinner technology to open spaces and separated methods to ocuupiers and theirneeds.We have opinions which the construction of open spaces are combined with ocuupiersand their wishes could ensure the expression on function. We try to find out the key points increating open spaces, give advantage and some suggestions on them.From cases tracing and review to theory, working rules and program, we try to figure outthe wrongs and fights that cause the defference between the goal, plan, excutive manager andresults. Finally, the researcher want to introduce the concept of Public Contact Places (PCP)and PCP system of city, make some progress on theory pushing co-operation between thepeople, professional engineer, officers, media and society. Specially, we would give someadvises and adjustment to design working and designers.With some more detailed methods and sugggestions, the researcher try to prompt therational construction, humanistic rules and sustainable developping to open spaces in city forpeople.To support better public life with more humanistic public places，designers could giveprofessional aid while others co-operrated.This paper include four parts.Part1: Chapter1, introduction. This part means reasons and direction of this research.Part2: Chapter2, theory and former research. Chapter3, reviewing and thinking aboutproblems on open spaces in city including writer’s points. This part means checking andjudgment to the existing with writer’s research.Part3: Chapter4, survey and research on open spaces in Zhengzhou city. Chapter5,survey and research on occupying to open spaces in Zhengzhou city. Chapter6, survey andresearch on occupier’s evaluation to open spaces in Zhengzhou city. Chapter7, problemsfinding to above. This part means the research process to open spaces combied withoccupying and ocuupiers.Part4: Chapter8, improvement and exploratory thought on open spaces with “PublicContact Places”.
