Base on educational diversity pattern of current interior design through horizontal and vertical comparison, this dissertation was trying to discuss’foundation of architectural education’in interior design’s educational system of position and view, method and experiment. The author believes that from the view of education, the interior design is a branch of architectural tree, and the human factor as an object should be importantly researched. The teaching of interior design emphasizes on:1、The experience in design as interior design’s method2、The experimental methodology from model application in design.Design is mostly about ways of looking at things and ways of analyzing them. The course of humanity and arts provide indispensable nutrient in the teaching of design. Critical thinking is the beginning of design innovation, and systematic solution of a problem is the process of designing. Abstract thinking makes more precise expression of perceptual knowledge, and technical thinking brings un constrained abstract concept to reality.The main body of this dissertation consisted of three parts, the first section was context and analysis, it has concluded the development of interior design’s education and practice by analyzing modern Chinese university education till last century and summarizing unique features of interior design in China. Moreover, by comparing systematical education of interior design between four US independent art collage and three most representative Chinese universities in order to certify unique characteristics is core competiveness in interior design’s education. The second section was views and perspectives:it has discussed true meaning of sustainable development, environmental ethic and people oriented stance. These meanings have all been accounted into appearance of humanism in interior design’s education. Also, by mentioning five aspects of contemporary design:from "space concept and structural development’,’experience design as space organization’,’decoration or design’,’visual design enlightens innovative design’,"internet teaching challenges traditional teaching’, interior design teaching can be seen with huge opportunities. The third section started with the experimental method to the Central Academy of fine arts as the example, put forward ideas on the construction of curriculum system and teaching system of professional interior design, and puts forward the proposal of "diversified and multi-level indoor design personnel training"; summarize the leaching experiment for many years the author presided over the interior design graduate class studio, with some of the best students works as an example, emphasizes the importance of teaching as the theme of studio teaching core.The dissertation has realistic connection among its chapter, shows the network characteristic, the conclusion will be described this point.
