MethodsUsingthe method of literature research, retrieve published literature of nearly 30 years (1979-2011), revealing the distribution and diagnosis of syndromes with psoriasis vulgaris based on the literature by frequency statistics and association analysis method. On the basis of literature research, carrying out national expert questionnaire survey with Delphi method to select the diagnosis index of blood heat, blood stasis and blood dryness syndrome, form the standard of main syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine with psoriasis vulgaris, diagnostic test study, evaluated the authenticity, reliability and clinical application value of the formed syndromes standard.ResultsEvaluation TCM syndrome diagnosis criteria by diagnostic test, the results showed that the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy and positive likelihood ratio of blood heat syndrome diagnosis model were high, and the omission diagnostic rate and negative likelihood ratio were low. This blood heat syndrome diagnosis model can distinguish blood heat and not blood heateffectively, indicate that it is a good diagnostic criteria. The specificity, accuracy and positive likelihood ratio of blood stasis syndrome diagnosis model were high. Misdiagnosis rate and negative likelihood ratio were low. The sensitivity and accuracy was low. All of them indicate that this blood stasis syndrome diagnosis model can eliminatenot blood stasis effectively, but the ability of finding blood stasis is limited. We should do further researchon it to get a perfect diagnostic criteria. The specificity and accuracy of blood dryness syndrome diagnosis model were high. Misdiagnosis rate, sensitivity and negative likelihood ratio were low. The omission diagnostic rate is high. All of them indicate that this blood dryness syndrome diagnosis model can eliminatenot blood dryness effectively, but the ability of finding blood dryness is limited. We should do further researchon it to get a perfect diagnostic criteria.ConclusionThe syndrome differentiation standard of TCM for psoriasis vulgaris based on the literature research and expert consensus is certain feasibility, accuracy and has some clinical practical value. The results of the study provided necessary knowledge and feasible methodology for further research on TCM syndrome differentiation standard for psoriasis and a standardized scale for the effect evaluation of the clinical diagnosis and treatment.
